Rituraj vs Gill- who is better in white ball?

Gill is way ahead in red ball and Rituraj should not even be in discussion there.

 

However in white ball who is better?

Comparison does not make sense. Shubman is 24 years of age. Rest everything is same. You can prefer either.

I was surprised to see that Gill and Rutu played similar amount of T20I’s. Gill averages 30 where as Rutu averages 39, both have 1 100 each and Rutu has 4 50’s vs Gill 3 and a better S/r.

 

Rutus odi stats are pathetic but only 6 games so small sample size.

 

obviously common sense and eye test says Gill is better.

It’s not u-19 comparison, they both are contenders for 1 slot which is white ball opening. So doesn’t matter if one guy is 19 and the other 45, they both are equals in this regard.

I know. But there's no way you can compare these two. 

 

One has the highest average in List A matches ever but hasn't played many internationals. 

 

Other doesn't have much domestic experience but highest average ever after 40 ODI (big enough). 

 

If there's just one slot, it's been booked.

One slot is Rohit and that is fixed at least for next 1 yr till CT. I would go with Jaiswal for Right-Left and not just that it makes 0 sense not to fast track Jaiswal who is already a guaranteed starter in 2/3 formats and is already topping the charts.

Gill needs to improve his mindset. He has so much potential. But underachieving as he goes into a shell during the start of his innings in both the white ball formats. 

 

Needs to play his natural game.

There is no cricketing reason not to try Jaiswal in ODIs. 

 

He has the best talent - mindset combo among young Indian batters now.

Gill is ahead...but his game vs spin is worrying aspect.

 

Ruturaj should focus on Tests, he has the ability to become a Test Opener for us...good against spin as well.

Why is Gill not playing Ranji cricket. He should go back to playing Ranji cricket to hone his skills on playing spinners. Want Jaiswal to replace him and see where he stands. Ruturaj also should be tried.

Neither. Jaiswal is the correct answer and should be in the team across all formats. Probably the only batsman who deserves to do so.

Rutu with hard work and csk mettle will surpass gill, in next 5 years. But on instagram gill be be the king.

Both of them are recipes for disaster. Gill is a proper FTB.  Neither of them should be in the team.  It's only Jaiswal who should be opening. (With Vadapav)
