So we get the same oldies and TTFs which lost us WC2023 and we're seeing the same losing mentality. Other than Rohit, there shouldn't be any spot for over the hill "King" Kohli, KL "Manhoos" Rahul, Iyer and Dube.

 

We've seen the T20 team revamped with addition of fresh blood. We bring oldies back and we see same mediocrity return. Take out Rohit and I doubt this lineup chases 150. And to think this combination of over the hill and TTF players is keeping out our best batsman in Jaiswal, Pant, Parag, and even someone like Rinku Singh out.

 

Looks like we've to sacrifice another WC in 2027 at the altar of seniors  and TTFs 

 

I'm concerned as I don't see planning for 2027 WC. Half the team will be in retirement home by that time. Rohit is 37 and won't be able to last 3 years down the road. Kohli is already done and should've been kicked out if he had been playing for Eng or Aus. KL Rahul is a serial loser who's in 30s as well. Iyer himself is 30.

 

We should be trying to get Jaiswal, Parag, Pant, Rinku and one of the pace all-rounders in Nitish Reddy or Venky Iyer. Absolutely no long-term or even tactical planning so far.

Kohli has achieved all 3 ICC trophies, so it's obvious he might feel a bit lackluster now..plus age is also catching up.

 

Rohit's ODI WC cupboard is empty, but I am sure he won't be able to sustain till 2027..many players in the past have hit a resurgence peak at around age of 35-36 for an year only to decline terminally after that.

 

KL has lost all hopes post the retirement of Dravid and thrashing by Goenka. Now he is just dragging his feet to survive somehow.

If you don't care of our team loses against a way weaker team then stop watching. I wouldn't care as much if we were losing because we were trying youngsters but losing because of carrying has beens is unforgivable.

Before his injury, for 2 years, pant was averaging 40 in ODIs with a strike rate of 110 but of course you guys prefer stat padders.

What will we learn losing with this lot I fail to understand? Even with younger and untested players we might have lost in these conditions but at least that would have been apart of their learning curve. These seniors will not learn anything from this kind of match practise here before the ct.

Drop Gill, Dube, Rahul, Arshadeep, Kohli, replace them with Parag, Jaiswal, Rana and find good left arm spinner from Ranji players, like sai kishore
