If the team is getting out for 45,the coach demands Washington Sundar ,who is cover for Ashwin, Pant,Gill.

 

Gambhir in trying to become a Chanakya doesnt loose the home test series against New Zealand. 

 

If he doesnt know that the fault was selection of Rahul and Siraj ,than we will be loosing in Australia also.

 

After all the fiasco of electing to bat,getting all-out for 45,If Rahul has scored atleast a 50 ,the match would have had a different result.

He last played test in 2021.He was not in the squad against England and Bangladesh.

 

Paddikal played in 5th test against England and scored 65,why is he not part of system. 

 

Why Sarfaraz, Jurel,Akashdeep, Paddikal not part of the system and are make out to be unwanted. 

 

Many on this forum believe if Gill is fit ,Sarfaraz may not play in the playing 11.

 

In the limited opportunities Akash has got ,he has shown on.current form he is better than Siraj.Many believe he could have bowled better than Siraj.

Sundar I think is cover for Ashwin. Ashwin looked really poor in the last match.   Moving slowly , less revs on the ball. Seems to be on his last legs.

Yea. He will want to leave on a high note. Now that Sundar has batted at 3 for his state he can fill the void. May not provide the same level of series winning performances. But he should still be able to do a decent job. Either way he has to add more variations, control to shine in Tests for a long period. Still a way beter bowler than that Sohaibl bashir.

Washington can bat in the top 6 in tests if needed.

 

If they are unsure of the nature of the pitch / conditions then they can play 3 quicks + 3 spinners together.

Sundar is not the same class as Ashwin. He will likely play once Ash is gone but I don't expect him to run through sides and win matches to the tune Ashwin did.

 

Honestly I see less hunger and desire too. His batting is good but again Ashwin under achieved with the bat and still has 6 hundreds.

 

Sundar is a downgrade but may be what we have to live with unless someone better comes along. 

 

On top of that the guy just stays down more than up, with injuries at young age.

More often than not, Jadeja simply gifts his wicket without a fight in pressure situations. In the last 12 months alone he has blown Bangalore Test, Ranchi Test, Hyderabad Test, T20 World Cup game vs Pakistan, ODI World Cup final. He statpads in the first innings in Tests when there is relatively less pressure.
