Serpico
How many careers will end with this edition of BGT? In the past, BGT famously ended the careers of Dravid, Laxman, Dhoni, Sehwag, Langer(as coach), Paine, Wade, Shaun marsh etc. A lengthy high profile series will expose a lot of washed up players and puts pressure on the selectors to make the tough calls. So lets start the Deadpool for this edition of BGT. Which of these players will not play another match after this series? 1. Khawaja 2. Rohit 3. Kohli 4. Smith 5. Starc 6. Marsh 7. Ashwin 8. McSweeny 9. Padikkal 10. Nitish 11. KL Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
Aussies will do the right thing and kick out their oldies while we'll continue on with Kohli and Rohit. Star Sports will continue to show us Kohli highlights from the 2014 BGT trophy when we won the last 2 in 2018 and 2021 and Kohli did zilch there. Ideally these're the players who shouldn't play beyond the current WTC cycle... Aus: Khawaja Smith Marsh Starc (still good for LOIs though) Lyon Labuschagne (should be dropped if he continues to fail) Ind: Kohli Rohit Ashwin (like him but he's done) Jadeja (time to move on) SachDan 1 Link to comment

Only talking about Tests. Yup, Jurel is the backup wkt keeper. I meant he can be one too so he has one more skill and not a pure batsman. With Rohit and Kohli leaving soon, if KL shows some consistency, he can be part of the team setup alongside Jaiswal, Pant, Jurel, Sarfaraz, Sai. Link to comment
maniac
Nitish played a memorable knock vs Bangladesh in T20 and his allround ability will keep him on the fringes of white ball. Padikkal is on the verge of never playing for India in any format unless a miracle. Sarfaraz will play a few home series before being dumped. Sink or swim for Jurel: he needs to stand out every chance he gets or else will be forgotten. Easwaran: if he didnt get a chance in first test in BGT game, he will never get. Rohit and Kohli depends on both India’s results in the series + their individual performances. Link to comment
BacktoCricaddict
My only complaint of this match so far - Jurel hasn't helped himself. This 2nd innings was a great chance to give the TM major selection headaches. But he has now given them an excuse to easily drop him when Gill returns :-(. sandeep 1 Link to comment

Serpico
Looks like Rohit is definitely done after this series, unless we qualify for the final Kohli got his 100 so can drag around for another year and retire with sub 45 average Link to comment
deepdynamo
Assuming India won't qualify for WTC Final.... -Rohit is 100% done - Kohli will drag out for next year home season vs WI, get his 10k runs with 46 average and then call it in test cricket at home. BCCI will mKe a event out of it ( like sachin last test) - KL will also be booted out in about a year or so, he will go in England though as first choice opener. - Ashwin will call it after home season In India, will finish around 560-70 test wicket. - Jadeja will play in 2026 and will form a partnership with Sundar for a year and half. - Shami is done in test cricket. CT 2025 could be his last apperance. Link to comment

I mixed up with his last ODI was in England where he was selected after 2008 just because all other ODI regulars were injured. Number 1 Link to comment
