Bavuma was a quota pick in the T20 side until they had no choice but to drop him.

Bavuma was a quota pick in T20 as well as ODI side.  We saw how miserable he was in ODI WC in India even on flat pitches. On few occasions, he was found napping in the dressing room during the WC, while his team was losing to Netherlands.                Test is the only format where he has earned his place on merit.

Bavuma was fine in ODI's but he has declined big time. For that matter , so has Van der Dussen .

 

The reality is that SA don't have proven ODI batters to take those spots. 

 

However , in T20's,  he was directly responsible for SA crashing and burning in 2 World T20's with his batting which created negative impact throughout. 

 

Wasn't even selected in any SA20 franchise despite being a local player.

Cricket is a lovely sport. You can have tall strong men but a smart guy like Abbas who looks like an accountant can dominate sessions making people afraid of him. Loved his relentless spell. 
 

pak will not value him or guys like Sajid or Nauman but he has more heart than people like Rauf and Afridi who backed down from the biggest stage. Test victories are remembered especially hard ones. 
 

 

That’s why Bumrah is such a legend. World cups will come but this is next level of sport and he knows that. That was his advice to Arshdeep also and hopefully our next young set of guys are I worried by him.

Sajid should have been playing . He was bowling wonderfully and SA cant play spin.

He is very useful with bat in hand as well. 

 

Not sure what selectors were smoking that these guys had a debut so late.
