India second country after Russia to have more than 1 undisputed world champion. Anand was world champ till the age of 44, Gukesh at 18, two ends of spectrum. Texan 1

Vickydev Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Can't help but think this is the beginning of Indian domination in the sport. Vishy Anand is indeed the Botvinnik of Indian Chess Tillu, Gollum and Lord 3
Gollum Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Reminds me of Anand's clutch game 12 win with black against Topalov in the lion's den, Sofia 2010. Kudos to Gukesh and his father Rajinikanth who is a stellar example of a chess dad like Henrik Carlsen. Tillu and rangeelaraja 2
rangeelaraja Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Gukesh - crushed the last 2 Olympiads, won the candidates convincingly and now the World Champion.
Gollum Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Gukesh talking about winning the crown back to India after it was snatched away by Carlsen in Chennai. Gukesh was a 7 year old watching that match live !!! Such emotional scenes. Lone Wolf and Sgattick10 2
Vickydev Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Sport is tough man. Feel for Ding, still has a smile on his face. Hope he makes a proper comeback
Gollum Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Look at the smiliarity, clarity in thoughts as children. Nole is Gukesh's idol as well !!!! Bold enough to stick neck out, then work towards their goals.

Kudos to Gukesh and his father Rajinikanth who is a stellar example of a chess dad like Henrik Carlsen. I think that was slightly different. There, Topalov was very keen for a result before rapid, given he would have been a huge underdog against Anand. Today was the opposite. Our lad was the underdog in rapid and grinded Ding down on the road to victory.
Vickydev Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Swimming in the tears of Pakistani chess trolls

Just pointed out the similarity. 2010 was played under extremely hostile conditions, can make a movie about that duel. rangeelaraja 1
