GG won't last.  This is all on the BCCI and the selection committee.  They need to make the tough decision to drop the captain.

GG maybe right but coach being at loggerheads with the captain will destroy the team.

If you were hell bent on making GG as coach , you should have forced RoKo and Jadeja to retire and then made him coach.

GG shouldn't have taken it then until Rohit was captain.

I like GG and I think he's a good coach, just that he is sitting their casually and watching Roko destroy this team makes me angry on him.

He is just bark and no bite till now ,if he had guts then he would have shown the door to Roko after the new zealand debacle. I trusted him to gradually phase out the deadwood but alas !

He should ask the selectors and bcci to get him young players and convince them that he'll work well with them and start a new project

The Indian Express understands that Rohit Sharma isn’t part of the selectors plan beyond the Australia tour when it comes to red-ball cricket and it has already been communicated to him prior to the Sydney Test. Post the Australia tour, it is also understood that the selectors will also sit with Virat Kohli to discuss the way forward as the team is all set to enter its biggest-ever transition. Ravindra Jadeja, the other senior player in the squad, will continue to remain in the scheme of things with the all-rounder’s presence being valued in the transition.

Rohit Sharma was told by India selectors they were looking beyond him after BGT

Looks like all wheels are coming off of Fatso's international career.

Most likely to be dropped for the England tour and the champions trophy. Hardik likely to be the odi captain.

He will be 39 in 3 months and is totally physically unfit. I don't think this will be a surprise to him. He's just not capable of playing international sport so none of these non selections is a surprise

Yes fitness is a huge concern. Kohli atleast is fit

Both are useless. In fact in shorter formats an unfit Rohit getting a quick 20s and 30s might be still better than Kohli struggling to get 20 at a SR of 60. In Tests both are equally pathetic. What good is fitness when your reflexes are all shot and you can't buy a run, drop sitters, and run your partners out? At the very least Rohit didn't run his partners out and if you factor it in Kohli's net impact might be lower than that of Rohit.

This series failure is all on Rohit and Kohli equally. Supposed to be the most senior and experienced players and de facto leaders. They did nothing but drag the team down and leaving a huge burden on Bumrah and youngsters to carry.

Picking two spin all rounders.. sending Jadeja before Nitish.. he should do better than this

Maybe Nitish point is right but all 3 are obviously in to lengthen the batting to make up for shyte top order

Exactly.

If you have had enough, then drop Kohli, the batter who's gotten the longest ever rope in history for averaging below 40 for calendar years as a high 40s/low 50s averaging batsman for rest of his career.

Cant say you've had enough, when you literally take more than anyone ever has of a 'former great, currently fattu' player.

Jadeja should bat no lower than 7 IMO.
He is tuktuk batsman who can eat up 100 balls regularly regardless of his score. But that is when India plays a proper middle order - Pant is not a proper middle order test bat, he is too BLAM for that and not in elite end consistency of BLAM like Sehwag or Viv to average 50+.

he is also wicketkeeper who survived a terrible crash that nearly killed him and took years off of his body.

Its faacking stupid to bat a wicketkeeper this high in tests, especially when he doesnt look like a total unit like Batul the great or something.

So yes, in a world where Pant bats at 6, Jadeja at 7 is fine. But here Pant bats at 5 and Jadeja at 6 is good foil for Pant, coz its a good tuk tuk blanket combo with blam blam pant, followed by another guy who can go blamblam like Nitish - or at least more so than Jaddu.

IMO, the *up in the team balance is Sundar, Kohli and Rohit/Gill.

Like wot de foc is his purpose in the team ? we aint bowling spin tandem so pick one of Jaddu or Sundar. And if u want to play tuktuk Sundar, then bat HIM at 5 and go

Sundar-Pant-Jaddu-Nitish wich is a good combo of tuktuk-blam-tuktuk-blam.

Instead we have sundar come at 8. who is a tuktuk batsman and most of the time he he is playing with another tuktuk guy jadeja.

Two tuktuks in lower order is facking stupid, coz they aint gonna dravid-laxman their way outta trouble b eating up 500 balls. They will stall the scoring rate and ur team will be stuck at 200/6 from 180/6 after 1 and half hour and u will lose a wicket due to scorecard pressure.

I just dont get the whole batting order of Indian team or even the role of its players: Sundar doesnt deserve to play if u r gonna bowl Bumrah into the ground and not really use ur 6 bowler option. There are better bats than him so play them. Or if u still wanna play him, play him at 5 and give him time to settle into tuktuk.

But we cannot do this coz Sundar isnt really a propah top notch test batter- at least not yet and our top order is pretty much 'Jaiswal + 3 fattus who will give u 20/3 like half the time without fail and if Jaiswal is gone too then its 30/4, which means mr #5 has to also be decent against new ball coz our top 4 sucks to survive against new ball the worst i have ever seen in indian test team.

So nope, cant play Sundar at 5 coz 1-4 cant last 20 overs in tests. So sundar gets to be a misfit, the whole team gets to be a misfit coz team balance gaya tail lene.
