To be fair to lolly and fatman, they were exception in 2024 t20 World Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup ( had duo of pant and pandya not been injured/ruledout, 2023 ODI final would have been different) .  Gautham Gambhir is a toxic fella who tries to create a system or culture that's not in tune with how Indian society operates. He is dead against a kapil dev/dhoni getting credit for World Cup victories. He has a problem with broad casters creating brands/super stars. he has an agenda, he wants to be a dictator with "my way or high way". Coach should create an atmosphere for players to perform not create chaotic dressing room. 

 

The OG of captain cool , Arnjua ranatunga apparently instructed every one in 1996 Srilanka winning team to not disturb/rile up Aravainda De silva during the tournament. All the players pooled money and gifted him a Sony walkman for aravinda to be in zone. Here is a captain who is pampering his super star batter who he thinks is the main player. Arvinda single handedly won the semis and final for SL in 1996. Kohli is a super star so is rohit. Acknowledge and get the best out of them, bloody Gambhir ! Create an environvement for them to succeed but not fail.

how did they perform well under Dravid and suddenly declined under gambhir? does man management play a role? Indian cricket team is not club/IPL level where gambhir would dictate terms.  Commentators have their own agenda/PR groups/bias. voice and opinion  of commentators is as good as mine/yours , no real value. Gambhir should do his job silently and let the selectors decide who to play.

Constant rhetoric about "I am responsible for equal opportunity to all players" ? who is he? why is he doing the job of selectors? Dropping the captain midway does not send a good signal to the rest of the team members. who ever new would be in fear of being dropped 

 

why does he attend press conference and want to be in centre of things?

 

why is he not easy to work with unlike dravid/John wright/gay christen and following greg chappel method of imposing?

 

what are gamblers credentials vis-a-vis Dravid to correct or alter technique of team members?

 

when india qualified earlier for 2021 WTC and 2023 WTC, what did he do this year?

 

what's some thing historical or new he is doing to alter the course of Indian cricket ?

They didn't perform well under Dravid. Kohli has been failing for 5+ years, it's the youngsters who helped us win again and again and again in tests. Rohit had a small patch and then reverted to being useless. 

 

Finally carrying these burdens and leeches is costing the team, which had to happen sooner or later. If they had been dropped long ago we would have already crossed the transition period and been in a much better place today.

When exactly did they perform well under Dravid? Kohli has sucked for 5+ years and has been a tailender. All our major series wins came when he was "resting" such as BGT in 2020-21, Eng series at home in 23 etc. It was Jadeja, Ashwin, Sundar, Axar, Pant and the bowlers who were saving our asses time and again. Once the lower order stopped scoring, we were found out.

 

In nutshell, we were winning inspite of Kohli and Rohit under Dravid, and not because of them. Bumrah and lower order have been pulling this team with our so called "seniors" and "stars" dragging us down.

The ask is to drop Kohli and rohit from tests? ODI's its fine since they performed well ? RO-KO had great 2019 and 2023 ODI world cups. Shikhar dawans injury in 2019 + coupled with rain and postponement of Indias innings to next day with overcast conditions dented india. 2023 pitch doctoring + pant/pandya not being available.

what about KL Rahul who never performed in any crucial games? what's pants contribution in 2019 ODI World Cup and 2024 t20 World Cup? should he be dropped from ODI's and t20's? should KL Rahul be dropped from ODI's since he failed in 2023 World Cup and did not do great in 2019 World Cup?

 

How come sachin played for 40 years? how did dhoni play till 38?

so gambhir said /leaked this to a reporter that sarfaraz was leaking the inside stories about the team or did gambhir brought this up in review meeting and some1 from that review meeting leaked/said this to a reporter.

 

if its the 1st case if gambhir can not keep the inside stories/issues to himself then why is he expecting his player to do it and if its the 2nd case then what can he do.....??

he brings up the issue to the review meeting that he thinks some1 is leaking inside stories and it is the nt. right approach of doing the things and then some1 from review meeting leaks that gambhit brought it up , then what can ghambir do...?, not his fault.

You’re making a lot of assumptions. As per Rohits own confession during the last test, he dropped himself. There’s an interview on it. That clown in fact made it sound as if he’s doing some kind of favor by dropping / resting himself. This is a common trend we’ve seen with that guy.

 

For press conferences, usually if there has been any decent performer on that day, the player himself goes to address the press. We saw that happen. But when the team loses badly or the day has gone bad, that’s when someone has to fulfill the press obligation.The coach doing that job on such days actually makes it easier for the players.

 

You’re assuming that the decline in form of these seniors is driven by the coach or some extraneous factor. The fact of the matter is that with age that was bound to happen. And in Rohits case his fitness was always going to accelerate his decline when it started happening. 
 

Also, as many others have pointed out, these seniors (Rohit Kohli especially) have not suddenly lost form in test cricket. It’s a chronic problem and something that has been going on for a long time now. It’s not some form thing or some person compatibility problem. 
 

And lastly, despite carrying these dead weights in the side, we still had good results in the recent past mainly because of the bowlers and the few times when the lower middle order batters bailing us out. Now Bumrah is tired and has slowed down, Shami is as good as gone from tests, the other bowlers have lost the edge or past their peak (Ashwin Jadeja). The remaining bowlers just don’t have that quality on a consistent basis. And that’s why we now seeing the true position where we stand.

India were chasing 239 in ODI WC SF. It was Kohli's moronic captaincy and team selection where he dropped Shami which allowed NZ to score that much. And when you're supposed to be "King" and "Hitman" surely chasing 230 odd shouldn't be a problem, is it? But as always they failed and couldn't even bat out the new ball spell which was all that was needed and crumbled to 5/3!

Agree with chasing 239 part, but our batters did well in the WC 23 and its unfair to suggest otherwise, 3 batsman made 500+, one of them made 760+, both the seniors were our two highest scorers while the likes of SKY and Gill failed. In the semis, we scored 390+, no one has ever made that much in a semi. We failed in the final because of the idiotic pitch tampering, to much emphasis on the pitch instead of actually worrying about performance, on top of that Australia's bowler displayed the greatest discipline I have seen in and ODI.

Agreed with the pitch tampering and hate Dravid and scared team management for doing so. But surely someone should've showed up big time in a home WC final. It was our WC to win. We had the pitch we wanted, had the bowling and everything was in our favor. On top of it the last 3 WCs (2011, 2015 and 2019) WCs were all won by the home team. And there was no reason for the trend not to continue. 240 was simply such a poor total that our bowlers didn't have a chance.

 

The worst part is that despite the pitch tampering and batting first, we had a decent start. We were 80/2 off 10 overs. That means even batting at 5 an over rest of the 40 overs, we would've ended up on 280. And if we could score a few more at the death we would've gotten closer to 300. And a total of 280-300 would've been competitive and would've given our bowlers a chance but not to be.

 

Major blame goes to the team management (Dravid and Rohit combo) who were so scared that they tampered the pitch when all we needed was a typical Indian pitch. But the rest of the blame needs to be on the batters. Surely from 80/2 off 10, they should've managed a total of 280-300. If they had scored that much and still lost, fair enough. But imploding to a below par total of 240 was pathetic. Even if one batter had shown up and played an innings to take the match by the scruff of the neck we would've had a chance but nobody showed up once Rohit was dismissed.

Its ridiculous to blame coaches and player on bench when the 2 most usless players play all the matches without any performance since last 5 years. Coaches can br nlamed for wrong playing xi but what else you would choose if 2 shiity superstars take 2 positions out of xi. Aggy should have dropped lully and fatty after 3-0 cleen sweep at home, if they are in team no one can drop them from playing xi where one is captain and other has millions of hostile followers.

KL has the worst average for any player ever in the Indian team who has played over 50 tests.

Sachin played for 40 years because he was great for 39 of those years and at 40 still had the hunger to play ranji for practices. Compare his last 5 years with Kohlis last 5 years please. 

 

Comparing sachin to Kohli is only something a cricket illiterate can do.
