mikeypbadana86 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 From an indian fan: pak won against india in 2017 CT final, 2022 if not for kohlis heroics + no-ball, it was pakistan's match to win in world cup t20, 2021 t20 152/0 pak dominated, 2022 asiacup pak chased 180 odd in t20. An indian win makes us think, its a one sided affair. Imagine, pak turing up on their day. Had saim ayub/fakhar zaman been available, match would have been way closer than it was. I think, indo pak rivarly would be exciting regardless of current form of PAK. Come t20 2026 world cup and lets see , what happens.

Tillu Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 No this should be the only way we play them. If we meet them in the knockouts we will be under a lot of pressure and by chance if we get knocked out, we wouldn't be able to withstand the incessant trolling that comes with it.

He replied that he was more interested in watching the funny/entertaining post match analysis of Pak channels (than the match itself) once Pak gets humiliated. He wasn't interested in the long/boring match as he was almost sure about the end result.

Pak only compete against us in T20s and that too when we had deadwood like KL, DK, Hooda etc in the team. Now Our T20 team will demolish them even there. In ODIs it has been a mismatch for a long long time. That CT final is the flukiest of all the flukes you'll ever see. Pakistan just do not have the quality to compete against us.

Austin 3:!6 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Its not going to happen. The only reason events like CT exists and there is an ICC tournament every year because India and Pakistan can play with each other. This game alone generates more revenue for ICC than any other game. nevada 1

Indian team on the other side had likes of Dhoni, Yuvraj and Kedar Jadhav in middle order. Mix that with off field issues with Kumble, that disaster in final was bound to happen.

Pakistan just do not have the quality to compete against us. As much as it is a fluke, i as an indian fan would be wary of facing a team like PAK in knock out. I remember in 2019 ODI world cup where pak missed out semis on net run rate. If pak had better net run rate, IND would have played PAK in semis instead of NZ. As much as PAK is a trash team, knock out against PAK is always 50 50. would we be not on our toes if we were to face pak in 2023 ODI semis/final or upcoming 2026 t20 semis/final ? Sayum ayub is an exciting talent, Abrar ( the mistery spinner) was great yesterday. I think, they may get the team combination right going award. Back in the 90's, PAK used to thrash us like how we are thrashing them now. It kinda stayed with me to have soft corner for pak as a team with great pedigree and a mercurial side to it.

Cricketing games are not just binary resylts. 2024 t20 ind vs sa was too a hard fought win. Its memorable since it was a close game.
Lord Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 another unfair thing : India matches on sundays It means one week gap between games. Happened in WT20 2021 and costed us

Its a joke to this extent that in 2023 the hosts dint play the first match till 3 matches were done and only on a Sunday and they are doing an opening ceremony 3 matches in- i mean the disrespect to teams by BCCI is shocking- no wonder rest of world hates us. India could have played on Sunday just have the first match of the tournament on a Sunday-job done sage, Mariyam and Lord 1 2

The main point is that it is unfair. As a global sport, one must not have biases in group selection. It should be based on ranking system so that all groups are fair. That is not the case because arch rivals are always placed in the same group in order to have few headline making matches. Other sports do not follow such biased methods to group teams for global events.
Vk1 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 High quality broadcasting with multiple cameras.. this has killed Pakistan cricket once for all.
