They could have taken risk for the A games. With this current A tour it being designed to support the senior team in England, trying out the likes of Tyagi or Imran when they've played no FC in ages is too much of a gamble. They need the nous of being able to bowl over after over over a day which the more experienced Ranji bowlers will have even with their lack of pace tweaker 1

If a regular players does not perform in these matches will they be dropped from test side for that tour .....??? These are just warm-up matches and gives the time for star player to join later per their convenience Edited June 9, 2025 by tapandrun

Otherwise the point would be to get test players attuned to English conditions. Ideally Sai and Gill maybe even others would be playing

Imo a team should arrive as a team and return as a team. There were some liberties given to player which have have used/misused. tweaker 1

None of these guys have shown any such skill. Ultimately it is wickets that is a bowlers currency. Just hurling the ball really fast gives you a Shoaib AKhtar type character at best. Made a lot of noise but played only a few tests, was mostly injured and didn't help his team win anything. Would take a few bowlers with a Shoaib Akhtar type of career. Had fitness issues but produced some special performances. Rightarmfast 1

Akhtar was a much better bowler and I wouldn't mind having him in the squad.

Apart from Test series against ENG and AUS, we are playing only 2 Tests per series against the rest. And that's true for all Test nations nowadays. Apart from freaks like Bumrah , it's difficult to develop multi-format fast bowlers and even batsmen for that matter. It's part of the reason why some of these guys haven't progressed and why even other teams like Australia are struggling to produce fast bowlers like they used to.

tweaker Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 https://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/138369/pause-and-play-kartik-tyagis-choice-that-gave-the-sport-back-to-him-cricbuzzcom On a summer morning in 2024, Kartik Tyagi decided to put an indefinite pause on his competitive cricket days. A recurring shin splints issue that first surfaced in 2021 kept holding him back. Regular rehab at multiple facilities couldn't keep the injury at bay, and he made just six IPL appearances between the 2022 and 2024 seasons. I just couldn't play big matches. I couldn't bowl too many overs in practice. It was getting difficult for me especially in 50-over and first-class games. So that gave me a lot of problems," Tyagi recalled to Cricbuzz before IPL 2026. Ahead of the 2024 IPL, he resolved to treat the shin splints once the tournament was done, only to pick up a side strain as well And so, Tyagi pressed the pause button. From that moment in May 2024, it would be 19 months until he played another top-level game. Tyagi has a history of remodeling his bowling action, with the intention always stemming from the need to ease the load on his body. This time, it was an excessive out-jump in his load-up, coupled with his non-bowling arm moving away, that were important issues to address. But there was more to it. The answer arose from the length of Tyagi's run-up and the way he was running in. The recurrence of the injury convinced him to shorten his run-up. " express bowling and BacktoCricaddict 2
tweaker Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Six months under Kaushik's watchful eyes brought Tyagi back on track. His first step back into competitive cricket was an 18-wicket season for Meerut Mavericks in the UP T20 League 2025. Still one of the fastest bowlers in the competition, still bowling the tough overs. With his remodeled action, it took Tyagi six months to clock his high speeds again. With more bowling, muscle memory has taken over and firmed up his rhythm with this new action. To date, Tyagi has played just four first-class matches, the latest of those coming in the second leg of the last Ranji Trophy season. That he managed to send down 27 overs across two innings without any discomfort was perhaps the biggest indicator yet that the sport had welcomed him again. BacktoCricaddict and express bowling 2
tweaker Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Tyagi will need a year to play Ranji season to make his body ready to bowl.atleast 10 overs a day. So from the express bowlers only Ashok Sharma can be considered as he has played every tournament in domestic and has played IPL and is selected for A team tapandrun, Suhaan and Need4Speed 3
tweaker Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 Karthik new action has helped him to be fit for full season of IPL. It's heartening,he was able to bowl at 150 k with the new action. With more bowling he may gain more speed, accuracy and he may get his Yorkers right. He should shift to a Ranji side where he is sure starter in the playing 11.
tweaker Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 Tyagi made his first-class debut when just 16. Then he was India's most successful bowler at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, and in IPL 2020, he was the most successful fast bowler after Jofra Archer for Rajasthan Royals. Bowling at speeds between 145kph and 150kph brought him in the spotlight, but he did more than just bowl fast. His death-bowling smarts helped him defend just four runs in a final over of an IPL game However, it's been grim reading since then. He played just four IPL matches in 2021, two in 2022, three in 2023, just one in 2024, and missed 2025 altogether. And despite making his first-class debut in 2017, he only has four matches in the format against his name, just 20 List A games, and a total of 37 T20s. The last few months have been different, though. He has played in all three formats domestically for Uttar Pradesh in the 2025-26 season, with the 18 wickets in 11 games at the UPT20 league in August-September Last year https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cricinfo.com/story/ipl-2026-kartik-tyagi-is-back-at-the-ipl-with-kkr-1529932%3fplatform=amp
