It's not the S400, but military strategies which hid IAF's deficiencies.

 

S400 flopped in Russia - Ukraine conflict due to drone swarm. 

This time, L70 was used to neutralize small Asisguard Songar drones, Akash missiles were used to intercept YIHA 3 kamikaze drones. Because of this, PAF was unable to locate S400's location and lock a target on it.

That was during the initial assualt...They got better with time.  That's thing with drone warfare it's new and evolving.

 

 

Their s400 units were definately more spread out than us and devoid of layered defense units.

 

Even American systems would fail with such ineptness.

That doesn't meant S400 is bad at all.

 

Cheap drones are a threat regardless.  Even cheap L70 guns don't work if the drones operate at super high altitudes.

That the Pakistanis didn't have them is another matter.

Trade deal ain't gonna change the strategic reset with Pak.  Even US strategic thinkers have been talking in depth now that Pakistan is now one of their most important allies when it comes to Iran India and China..
