Odd that Prasidh isn't there. He needs to know what length to bowl. Would have liked to see Arshdeep in for Khaleel who can be inconsistent, Devdutt in for Ruturaj who should not be anywhere near red ball team, and don't know what Tushar is Doing there apart from due to CSK quota... No other options? What about Arora or Vyshak 

 

Also my niche pick would be Wadkar who has been a fantastic Ranji player for so long, in for Kishan

Good team as i consider Khaleel is a better option for tests. Arsh has some serious swing Skills but he has not been successfull in domestic 4 day events.

i think yash and arsh are a bit SLOW and good with the new ball, bumrah /prasiodh/siraj may take new ball , the fourth pacer wont get the new ball and i feel khaleel is a better option than arsh or yash dayal with a semi new ball.

why is sai kishore not in A team?

 

i consider him as a better Spinner than Jaddu and washington and may be even better than KULDEEP Yadav ( he has line n length issues some times).

 i could not find one batsman in IPL who could play sai kishore with confidence.

that guy is 6 4 inches and some serious Spinner...

 

AM I wrong ?

how can manav suthar /tanush kotian picked ahead of Sai?????

Yash Rathod should have been in the squad as he is highest scorer in Ranji.

Gambhir didn't play Eashwaran any matches and he has been named captain.

 

The test team needs a solid opener to partner Jaiswal and a good middle order batsman .

Karun Nair should be given more opportunities. 

 

Ideally more players from Ranji winner and runner up should have been selected.

You're right but unfortunately for Sai, Suthar is a better batsman as is Harsh Dubey

 

Kotian is an offie so I guess not a rival

That clash in schedule is terrible news. Needed Prasidh and Arshdeep there. Of course the bcci would never get their priority right unlike other boards

Jurel and Jaiswal have been sent ahead because they are going to be in the main squad. This will give them an opportunity to get used to the conditions ahead of the Test series. There are some odd selections. Tushar Deshpande and Mukesh Kumar should not be in Test fray. They have very good FC records but are 30+. Need to try out some young bowlers. It is funny that A Easwaran, keeps getting picked as captain of the A team but never makes it to the Test playing XI. Sai Kishore needs some games as well as a spinner. He is 28 years old and he is supposedly in his prime years as a spinner. His height gives him a huge advantage on bouncy pitches overseas and also on two paced pitches at home. Hope to see Sai Sudharshan in the Test squad as well. We have two spots now in the playing XI after the retirement of Rohit and Virat.

sub-40 avg in Indian first class cricket doesnt get you call to test squad...  Sai-Sudharshan has age on his side and should use this callup to  tighten his offstump game

Anyway, there is a saying in Hindi "bhains ke aage been bajane ka koi faida nahi"...BCCI and the selectors are those bhains (buffalos) who wont move from the middle of the road no matter how many time you honk.

since the IPL lead matches were left this team, this cannot be the second best indian 14 team- so you can't judge Agarkar and team with this selection.

 

some issues i have is

rituraj has been unfit - why is he selected?

why is abhi manyu captain- are they serious in selecting him ?  i feel he is not GOOD ENOUGH, and they are correct about not playing him for INDIA, then why India A?

 

Rishabh is unfit and not at all in any kind of form. he has flopped on FLATTEST of indian pitches. I am SURE he will fail in england if he plays in the 11.

DHRUV is a better keeper than rishabh and is a better batsmen as of today for sure but will they play dhruv in the 11.

TANUSH Kotian /harsh dubey ..i guess they are not good enough to play for india as of today....i guess better spinners are playing in teams which are in IPL finals/semifinals.

nitish kr reddy is back and he is bowling well today , if he is fit , he is a far better batsman and fielder than shardul. why is shardul picked in india A then? is shardul bowling well now ??

 

India's no 1 spinner Sai kishore is not in A team why???? is he not picked as he is in ipl team playing finals??

 

JASPREET BUMRAH is a DOMINATING agressive player and a fast bowler who scares the entire world, if he becomes Indian captain, he will try extra harder and may be he scares the other team a bit more....GIll is a good batsmen but is he a Ganguly type leader or does he have a captain like personality, yes he was smart as a GT captain but i think BOOM is a better captain.

no fast-bowling captain will play all 5 tests in a 5 test match series so what's the fuss about, if boom plays 4 out of 5 tests, it is perfect. pick him as captain.
