these idiots,what was the need to to have a parade so soon? not even one day has passed.even the most well versed police force needs time to get more personnel to build barricades.this tragedy could have been avoided if they used common sense but photo ops are  the IN thing now for politicians.

The key is "If they knew" and that's a big If. Also, who knew. Maybe one or two organizers knew and they decided to go ahead. That's why it's important to investigate the whole event and following questions need to be answered:

 

1. Who overruled B'lore police when police said that they can't support the event and can't take responsibility for it?

 

2. Who all knew (including organizers, politicians and cricketers) about the stampede and people dying & injured? And at what time?

 

3. Who decided to continue with the "celebration" despite knowing about the tragedy? And were the players in the know?

 

I wouldn't blame Kohli or any other players coz it could very well be they didn't have the information and only a select few knew about the incident. That's why there should be an investigation which answers the above 3 questions. And people need to be held accountable. 11 people died senselessly and tens others injured. You can't just roll that under the carpet.

Some fans were climbing over the walls and fences, it only needs a few guys to ruin the whole event. Crowd assembled in many parts of  the city including the  Legislative House but trouble happened only near the stadium.

They were flown in a chartered flight from Ahmedabad to B'lore in the AM for them to come to B'lore for the celebrations. Absolute chaos  because of a plan hatched by karnataka politicins in the govt..

No the problem is Indians they like to crowd. Word is tamash'been.  Anything happens on the street, they stop and watch forever. Any domestic quarrel, who mohalla gathers. Desi's have no concept of boundaries, personal space or privacy. It stems from lack of respect for others. Same with staring at strangers. 

 

Stampedes happen everywhere, but India has a civil sense issue.

Sad story of how hero worship has led to so many tragedies.

I am a little surprised by how much euphoria was generated by one IPL trophy. Yes, it was the first ever for Bangalore, but this tournament happens every year. It's not like a World Cup.

 

For me personally, I would feel more happiness when the state team I support wins the Ranji Trophy rather than the IPL team that I support winning the IPL. With the Ranji win, you know that it is your local players who won the Trophy, not just a random bunch of players from around the globe who were bought and never lived there or  spoke the same language or even give two hoots for the city they represent. 

 

Of course, no state level achievements come anywhere close to the elation experienced when India wins. Even then such victory parades are unwarranted.

2024 wT20 parade at Mumbai was 10 times bigger. I think it was organized better with the help of cops. If they were going to organize such a parade they should do it with the help of local cops.
