Potts was down in pace in the ODI series against WI.  Perhaps why they have gone for Overton.

Batting till 9. We're gonna struggle. We always struggle against teams with batting depth and expect Eng to post big totals despite their main batters struggling.

We know how it's gonna play out... we get early wkts and then the lower middle order get Eng up to a par+ score and we struggle. Then Bumrah breaks down in the 3rd Test and the series is over.

 

5 Tests is way too many Tests. 4 Tests is the max we should go with. Anything more and we end up playing with backups.

Yes,in current era 5 is one too many

They will have to use Prasidh intelligently and play him as enforcer but needs strict guidance where to land deliveries,hope he does the job for us

We needs to play 5 Proper bowler's because England have batting depth until 8-9. No more fake allrounder like Reddy &  jadeja.  

 

Jadeja bowling is useless in English condition.

Not sold on Easwaran. I would push Rahul to open and play Jurel at 4. Jurel has been in form and looks solid. Plus Rahul has been doing well, and generally performs very well in the 1st Test.

 

Edit: Noticed you haven't selected Sai. For me Sai is an automatic selection. So Easwaran doesn't get in. Sai takes his spot or you push Gill to open with Sai at 3. Easwaran is not better than either Sai or Jurel.

batting looks formidable. If Siraj can slightly improve his Australia performance then we might have a chance to win a game.

I agree. Rahul to open and we need to assure Jural he will get a long run. Jural, Pant, Nitish have the potential to make our core for years.
