Jaiswal wont be atg

Jaiswal plays too many lose shots for an opener and lacks Patience. He was the reason we lost mcg test because of brainless shot when he should have just defended. Even today playing rackless shot off archer. He is just not suited for test cricket

I won't be surprised if Jaiswal will have a career average like Graeme Smith at end of his career. Not every opener can be Gavaskar or Hayden.

Little bit egoistic and over-confident. First he told Starc you bowled slow. THen argued "i trust myself" back myself or something to bowlers. Here after Archer got him out in the first innings he played as if he wanted to settle a score while ignoring the larger picture of winning the match smartly.  This street cricket style revenge can cost your team. His mistakes are extremely costly. Hope he matures and doesn't focus too much on these personal battles.

So in essence the new KL Rahul?

He can be better than that if he respects conditions, situations, bowlers. He made one mistake in India. It was Dravid the coach at that time. Next innings he gave respect to new ball for substantial period. Then he went ballistic. I don't think Gambhir is the right coach to polish guys like Jaiswal. He was shaping up well showing immense maturity.

Issue with Jaiswal is he still thinks its whole world against him and he has point to prove. He then takes every slight as a revenge fix like he got out to his ex ipl team mate archer and now wants to prove a point forgetting that team is important than a four of a archer bouncer. Dravid always used to say one thing. Is the shot worth the risk at that stage. What will you get. Max a boundary. What will you lose.. your wicket.. and the match.. Dravid is still his coach in RR. Hope he talks to him one on one.

May be it was team strategy.

Go aggressive from Jaiswal's end and kill the spirit of opposition in the first hour itself.

It is generally a risk worth taking in small chases.

The problem is we have dud, useless pos no. 3 so 1 down becomes 2 down quite quickly.

I think you give Gambhir too much credit. This makes Gambhir sound like General George S Patton.

Gautam Gambhir isn't the coach who will take this team forward. We need a better coach. We have a brilliant bunch of players to build a strong team but I don't think the current coaching team can get us there. Yes, I agree that there are a few positions which still have to be filled, like number 3, fast bowlers, but we are well on the way to getting there. I just hope the coaching personnel change though.

Its there in most of our cricketers. A fine line separates a gritty fightback from a rush of blood to the head followed by a wipeout.

Contrary to that I think it is only Gambhir who can come up with strategies like that. Dravid would ask them to play sensibly.

How is giving chances killing spirit. It's not a T20

Spirit will be killed if batsman is looking safe.
