It’s a shame that some toxic fan clubs are targeting Gautam Gambhir even when he’s fighting against the so-called ‘white supremacy’ mindset that is deep-rooted in England cricket.

Gambhir gave it back to Oval’s curator Lee Fortis when he tried to interfere in India’s practise sessions and made an attempt to dictate terms to Indian cricketers.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a Gautam gambhir fan or not, because he’s not fighting for himself, he’s fighting for the respect of Indian cricket team and Indian cricketers .

Why is it so hard for Gambhir to understand not to cross the barriers. Groundskeeper has every right to make sure people don't wander around it.

Tomorrow you want visiting teams to do the same in India.

This is more classist remark by Gambhir .It has got nothing to do with white supremacy. There are 1000 ways better than the one he chose to expose himself as a person.

I don't think it is possible that India were denied access nor is anyone actually claiming that. There are clear ICC regulations allowing both teams access to the pitch for visual  inspection on the days before the match. They just have to do under the groundsman's guidance as he is responsible for the state of the pitch and the ground. ( https://i.imgci.com/link_to_database/ABOUT_CRICKET/ICC_1998-99/TEST_MATCH_PLAYING_CONDITIONS.html)

Here is a summary   - the groundsman is clearly the one in charge.

  • Before the Toss (and leading up to it):

    • Inspection by Captains: The Ground Authority is required to grant suitable facilities for captains to inspect the pitch before the nomination of their players and the toss. This implies a level of access in the hours leading up to the game.

    • Captain and Team Coach Access: Prior to the start of play on any day (which would include the days leading up to the match), only the captain and team coach may walk on the pitch to assess its condition. Spiked footwear is not permitted.

    • No Ball Bouncing or Striking: Captains, umpires, and groundsmen must cooperate to ensure that, prior to the start of any day's play, no one bounces a ball on the pitch or strikes it with a bat to assess its condition or for any other reason, or causes damage to the pitch in any other way.

  • During Preparation (General):

    • Ground Authority Responsibility: All mowings carried out before the match are the sole responsibility of the Ground Authority.

    • Artificial Drying: Prior to the scheduled time for the toss, the artificial drying of the pitch and outfield is at the discretion of the Ground Authority.

In essence, while the grounds staff are responsible for the pitch's preparation, opposing captains and coaches are allowed to inspect the pitch, usually without spiked footwear, to assess its condition in the lead-up to the match. However, they are strictly prohibited from interfering with the pitch's condition through actions like bouncing balls or striking it with a bat. The focus is on observation rather than active testing or alteration

Dude you keep on crying as soon as you hear gambhir, look at my above post, where is 2.5 meter rules for english now.

So, if full information is not available, and it is a minor argument, then what is the need to pass judgement  ?

My bigger concern is whether we were denied access to the pitch for inspection. That is definitely not the norm in any country.

The guy who is arguing is pure gambhir hater… i also dont like some of the gambhir selection . But would not be grumpy enough and bash gambhir on everything. Even groundsman is not so judgmental and persuasive as our own brown sepoy. Clearly that fat guy tried to denied access to Indian team with 2.5 meter rule and yet laughing with entire english team on the pitch. But gambhir hater is trying to paint gambhir did weong it will have negative impact on team. some of these self interpreted judgment are so lol worthy.

Just a Groundsman prepared the greenest pitch ever lol

per Boria this is one of the things that irked the Indian side before it went off the rails, appraently when asked for insights into how the pitch might behave the cuator joked that he will ensure to grow some grass & make it greener. may be he wasn't joking ;)

Why can't we get a level headed innovative coach in white ball?

I think he was doing well with our white ball ,maybe sample size is not that large

But his vision is right for T20 side

Hope he keeps the t20 dressing room cool

T20 progress was blocked by RoKo. Too much talent now. Most coaches will do well.
