They are using Bumrah as a crutch to cover for all their mistakes.They look lost otherwise.

 

I disagree that it will be back to 1990s.We saw under Dhoni from 2011 to 2014 how to mismanage fast bowlers.

 

The same Ishant , Shami and Umesh which everyone wanted to kick out were refurbished under better coaches to become very good bowling attack.

 

You need competent coaches and selectors.Other things will fall into place.

He initially hurt it in Melbourne BCG 2024-25. But keeps coming back, playing everywhere including IPL etc. Seems to have flared up again (3rd test?). He needs to be careful.

Bhai apke muh me ghee-shakkar, if Bumrah stays fit and in rhythm...even if he is able to play 60% of the games at his optimum capacity. It will help us in transition.
But, we know gets another hold of Bumrah, they will do everything humanly possible on earth to reduce his effectiveness.

The BCCI test team is not India. The players represent the franchise BCCI.

 

As such, I prefer to support my local franchise in the IPL over the franchise India in test cricket!

Yes he would have been unplayable on this surface. That said Akashdeep, Prasidh and Siraj should also be able to get enough help here and bowling better than Tongue and Overton is not a big ask. They just need to keep grinding and get as big a first innings score as they can. Whatever they get they are very much in the game especially with Woakes most likely out of the game with a dislocated shoulder.

Will miss a 4th seamer. Even Thakur would have been good.

Can't remember how many times after a poor start to the IPL season  has managed to qualify for the eliminators and even go on to win the whole thing.
