maniac Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 For making test cricket watchable. love the low scoring bowling friendly thrillers or bazball style but in 2025, old school 1920 test cricket should be outlawed In the age of T20 can’t bear watching tuk tuks or aura less batting. Austin 3:!6 and Stan AF 1 1
Austin 3:!6 Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 I was saying exactly the same in match thread. You cannot bat at a strike rate of late 20s- early 30s anymore. Test cricket has changed a lot and we need to move forward with time. Any point of time, one good delivery and you are out and scoreboard move no where. maniac 1
New guy Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 This is why people like Pant and jaiswal affect match results way more than those like Rahul Austin 3:!6 and maniac 2
R!TTER Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 It's not as simple as that - they generally play better on seaming decks, we do much better on spinners! You can maybe win an odd test or two on such tracks but the (much) superior bowling attack of Eng will prevail more often than not. Same goes for our spinners at home, the caveat being that your batting doesn't completely flop like it did for us vs NZ - yes we tried that bassball BS over there, especially RGS first over(?) at Bangalore Lord 1
AuxiliA Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 One thing that I really appreciate about the post 2015 Eng team is that they have started the trend of 'expending more wickets to get more runs' in white ball cricket. Also I like their fixation over Batting Deep no matter what. It perfectly makes sense. In cricket all batters don't have to bowl but all bowlers do have to bat at some point. Why not make all your bowlers work a bit on their batting for the greater good of the team. maniac 1

This was the case with every top team, heck even our c**** from 1990-2012 or so had decentish tail. It's only under BRat that we saw batters stop bowling or bowling even pretending to bat/field decently Ultimate_Game and sage 1 1
vvvslaxman Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Isn't that how we saved the last test? England was one batsman away from blowing India away. Jaiswal cost us the test with bazball approach. I stlll remember Dravid scoring 12 runs 96 balls in one of the test lol nevada 1
Lord Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 What did Bazball do in India or even Pak. Got rolled over moment pattas were removed nevada, Chakdephatte, cricspirit and 1 other 2 2

Those bozos coudl not bat out 103 overs for a draw against a side that had no Bumrah. India batted out 143 overs despite loss of Pant , despite being 0/2. cricspirit, Rondu and Lord 1 2

putrevus Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 It is less about Bazball and more about timidity shown by lot of Indian batsmen. This English bowling is awful and worse than India's bowling. Plus all the flat wickets which were laid out on this tour. Geniuses here are finding fault with Pant's batting. Pant is sole Indian batsman who put these useless English bowlers in their place.

I praise batsman who can show patience in this T20 era. Infact ABDV himself has scored 34 runs in 174 balls to draw a test. You have to adapt yourself. maniac, Rondu and Lord 1 1 1

maniac Posted August 1, 2025 Author Posted August 1, 2025 6 minutes ago, Lord said: Just 18 ahead with 2 wickets to go What is so earth shattering they did? They have a weak bowling, even if they get a 50 run lead and if India bat big, they gave themselves a chance to draw or even win the game. Now watch either India will get bowled out cheaply but take for ever to give a safe target. Which will take them 2 days.

England are atleast playing in home conditions. We were aggressive too when they toured India. Priority is to score a defendable total. If it takes 100 overs so be it.
vvvslaxman Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Bazball is a stupid cricket. If the bazball is so great they would have batted out 103 overs in the 2nd match that too without Bumrah.
putrevus Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 (edited) Bazball won first test by beating the living daylights of Indian bowling led by their ace Bumrah. Bazball did win against Bumrah , Shami and co to level last test series. Indian screwed it up chasing 192.Let us give credit to them. People need to stop bringing England's record in India. Who cares what their record in India is , we need India to win everywhere for that they have to beat England in England. Edited August 1, 2025 by putrevus
