Dhruv Jurel will be keeping wickets in his place during the series.

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is set to miss their two-match Test series against the West Indies, which starts on October 2. Pant is still recovering from a fractured left foot, which he had suffered during India’s fourth Test against England in July this year in Manchester. Dhruv Jurel will be keeping wickets in his place.

The first Test will be played in Ahmedabad, followed by the second in New Delhi.

Just shows how brave it was for Pant to walk in to bat in OT. And that pos David Lloyd cheekily saying he was faking it.

Anyway, hope he is fit for RSA tests, already missed so many tests and easy runs at a young age.

Great chance for Jurel to score some big runs and push his name for #3 or #5 spot @Lone Wolf

Cricbuzz saying Karun Nair has been dropped for Paddikal.

Not a massive upgrade this.  Paddi is not International standard with zero footwork

There are multiple players who would offer more than Padikkal or Nair for a home test series.

Paddi is kela   ( -2.0)

Won't be a major issue in WI though, he struggles against quick bowlers who bowl at high pace. Don't know if WI have any quick bowlers apart from Shamar Joseph.

Jayden Seales is the dangerous one

If GG doesn't rate Sarfi or Iyer then just get in Tilak and give him a long run.

After jaiswal tilak is a potential 3 format player

Who'll be the reserve keeper to Jurel? Good time to blood in a young keeper

Jagadeesan mostly.

He was picked as the reserve when Pant got injured. And he's been scoring big runs in domestics.

Too old, both him and Wadkar.

Someone like Aryan Juyal pr Pradosh Ranjan Paul can be invested in

I am totally confused about Padikkal, why is he even considered? His FC record isn't stellar and I am sure we have multiple batters who are better in our domestic cricket. The little I have seen of him in red ball cricket, he hasn't been impressive. I feel it would be a waste of a spot as I don't see him in the playing XI. Like someone mentioned Tilak Varma is a good option in the middle order. He did well in county cricket as well. Sarfaraz can also be given a chance as he will come good at home. I don't think investing in Padikkal is a great idea in Tests.
