Varun C vs Kuldeep in T20Is, your pick?

WC in India means dew will be a factor. So can't rely on just one specialist quick. With our 8 batting options strategy, we might end up in a situation where both Bumrah and Arshdeep play, leaving one spot for Varun or Kuldeep. Who should get preference?

 

Methinks Varun C is a better bet against NZ, RSA. Kuly against Eng, Pak. Not sure about Aus...but Varun did well against them in CT SF including dismissing Head first ball. 

 

Or do you trust Pandya and Dube/NKR in dewy conditions? 

 

Leaving Arsh out is tough, he too is a champion and clutch.

We need to play two pacers,with Pandya

Playing two spinners is insane against way better lineups than paxtan,we already have Axar,them we have part timers as Tilak,Abhi,Rinku(if plays)don't need more than one specialist spinner

Pacers can vary pace and bowl cutters,will be more effective than spinners here

I think the combination will sort itself out in the 15 T20s we play now (including 10 in India).

 

I'd say Kuldeep for lefty heavy lineups and Varun C for righty heavy.

 

Wouldn't mind adding Varun and then Parag replacing Rinku or someone for the offspin for lefties. Keeps the 4 L 4 R combination too.

India had Jadeja for world cup. They played both Jadeja and Axar alongwith Kuldeep.  If they are going to leave out Varun they might pick Sundar in place of Jadeja.

Mahedi Hasan, Theekshana, Mujeeb  all have outstanding economy in power play.   All are off spinners.  Sundar is also outstanding in power play. Best power play spinner in Indian T20 history.

Definitely Varun. Even on his bad day he'll be alright while Kuldeep can lose it badly

He is economical but can't hit big.

yea.. Basically from 2024 world cup winning squad  Sundar is replacing Jadeja.  But Varun C  is kind of a must .  This is our software updated 'Kulcha'

Sundar replaces Jadeja. Varun C replaces Kuldeep.

 

That makes sense but can also do Parag for Jadeja for more batting firepower.

Kuldeep easily...  Though Varun may also sneak in but I feel Teams don't play Kuldeep that well comparatively.
