Vaibhav is too leg sidish.  He isn't ready.  Should be playing FC level cricket and then T20 stuff at present.

Way too raw and undercooked.

Abhishek is sort of a player who slowly becames a monsterous player. He didn't start as an aggressive player. Vaibahv from the beginning an aggressive player. Naturally aggressive. I saw the test. He was brilliant to watch in terms of picking the length.  HE has this whip lash  that is sort of unique where he imparts tremendous power even to tarditional shots.

Could be post Ro Ko retirement who knows what's the top order gonna look like.  There will be 1 spot empty at the top.

Jaiswal Gill and who else.  Likes of Abhishek Arya and even Prabhsimran could be competing for that second future opener spot.

Tilak

Don't think Sai is in the picture.  They will likely go with Arya/Abhishek or Prabhsimran (offers keeping as well)

Abhishek is front runner with no two new ball rule anymore and role of part timer increasing as well.

I don't think Abhishek has the game yet to play ODIs and that too at #3.  Anyway let's see.

Ashwin is not retained in IPL and not picked in ILt20 is more than evidence that an off-spinner is not required in white ball cricket specially t20s.

Off-spin has to come from a proper batter. All other teams make their batters to bowl off-spin if needed in t20is

Picking 3 spinners is why we got caught wanting in the last 2 World Cups.

Missed a pacer in 2019 and in 2023, Ashwin was completely useless and unselectable everywhere except Chennai.

Can't afford that in 2027. Gotta nail our selections for any chance. Cos you can be damn sure that OZ/NZ/SA will select perfect squads.

He needs to improve his off-side game as other posters also indicated, bcci needs to get him is other ranji team.

He reminds of zazai(afgn intl) who was strong leg-side player but had v.few shots in off-side

He does have. Theya re kinda scared to give him width. Infact his IPL started with lofted six over long off or extra cover

Even in IPL he drags the ball to leg mostly.  He has power game for sure but needs a lot of refinement.

He will be a beast in couple of years.  Should focus on U19 WC next year and SMAT and later IPl.

Natural successor to Kohli ideally.  Might even make it to 2027 WC depending upon T20 WC obviously.

I think post 2027 cause Kohli won't retire until then.

Gill

Jaiswal

Tilak

Once Iyer/KL leaves Abhishek/Jurel can come in. Maybe even Pant for ODIs.

Must see what happened to Prathvi Shaw and should keep his head in just cricket, he has ingreient for what modern day batter needs.

If needed should/can consult some mubi coaches with the game like Abhishek Nayar, heard rr batting coach is good to.

RR has acdmy in kpr can work with them also csk they run good training.

One godo thing about RR is once they back a youngster they back all the way.

Problem with RR is they are small market team, they do not have much power to push their player to domestic sides and intnl side is even tough.

For me it should be Sai at no 3.

In fact in my ideal ODI 11 Rohit, Virat and KL have retired and been replaced by Jaiswal, Sai and Jurel

Think Sai has the game to be a middle overs anchor, which ODI cricket still needs especially at no 3

Abhishek, Arya and Prabsimran competing for backup opener

Abhishek list A record is poor !

It's completely brainless to pick Washington Sundar in ODIs let alone SENA ODI's.

India picking 3 spinners in every ODI squad must stop, that too an offspinner.

Parag adds so much more to the squad.

Hm I don't know!

Think there could be a role for Sundar in ODIs. He is a better bowler than Parag though less of a batsman. His bowling style could be effective in ODI gets good drift. Can bowl in power play. He could bat in the middle order if he can work on his ability to find gaps

T20IS I agree, Washy should not in the squad

I'm not sure selecting an offspinner in ODIs in this day and age is ideal.  Even in Indian conditions, we couldn't fit Ashwin in the side in the the 2023 World Cup. It was a complete waste of a spot.

Selecting 3 spinners would again be terrible in SA because you would have to play a minimum of 3 pacers + Hardik in every match.  And Washi is not among the top 2 white ball spinners in the country.  I would only pick Kuldeep + Axar for 2027.

Parag is probably the best middle order batsman in India and bowls both offbreaks and leggies and is a good enough 6th bowler.

Right...Abhishek, Tilak, Parag all have the ability to bowl few overs. Infact likes of Tilak and Abhishek were used to be "allrounders" during their U-19 days.
If someone like Maxwell can hone the art and become the primary spinner for Australia in shorter formats, what's stopping these guys. Likes of Jayasuriya never stopped bowling.
Abhishek, Parag and Tilak should continue to bowl atleast 4-5 overs in ODI's.

Lol,you will keep Jurel ,Sai together in an odi xi post 2027 or even now?

No top side will pick these 2 in the same xi,at best you will need 1 anchor
