Carey is extremely useful. Brilliant keeper and an aggressive batsman who can win single handedly for his team. Played match winning innings against WI in WI on that treacherous pitch. We have joker lapadu Pant who is a bad keeper and phattus in Jitesh and Jurel. NZ have Santner although not a wicketkeeper but an excellent lower order hitter.

Eng dropped 5 catches.

Aus will take atleast 120 run lead and unless the openers provide great start,i don't see Eng winning this.

Bowling from both sides have been ordinary except Starc. Eng haven't played him smartly. Gifted wickets. Green wicket was comical. Despite some brainfades, Aus are ahead.

All this talk of Bazball and it's Aus who have scored at a healthy rr of above 5 throughout the innings.

That’s a wrong way of looking at it. Australia always has a limited pool in the sense,

they have limited fc teams. even to  get to FC cricket (Sheffield shield) there is a certain quality standard they look for . They don’t have rellu- katta teams like we have in domestics. 
 

so they always have to plan ahead for the resource pool management. So it’s a good thing if they have seen something in a 20 yr old.  Not like every U-19 fast bowler is being fast tracked. 
 

If you see their team historically will always have a mix of  domestic journeyman like Lehmann, Bichel, Colin Miller etc even at their peak and suddenly they throw in a youngster in the mix like they did with Lee bros, Konstas, Steve Smith etc and many others when they see some extra spark. They do have more hits than misses too.

 

we can learn a lot from their resource management.

Does it matter who Aussies call as forgettable.He unlike these jokers atleast kept one end quiet.

 

They have their opening bowler who is yet to take a wicket.

There is always the option of bowling at the stumps. LBW and clean bowled are legal options.
