BCCI needs to stop preparing third class pitches

Rohit’s last 5 matches (2 vs Bang & 3 vs NZ) at home was poor, before that he was India’s best batsmen at home since 2019.

 

This Indian batting line up is mediocre to say the least.

 

Rohit would have been proactive in both innings, don’t go by his last 8 test matches.

 

I would say he should be tried at number 3 spot which is clearly musical chairs.

 

Retirement needs to be cancelled start playing ranji.

I agree , I think Gambhir had something to do with his recent failures in India.

 

Rohit would done great on this wicket, as you said he would have been proactive and not meek.

He was proactive against NZ too. Couldn't get past the new ball.

Problem is On these pitches you have to attack like rohit  or be very good defending like pujara.Also our batsman are  really poor against spin

This is probably the worst Indian batting unit in test cricket in this century.. They have zero idea about playing spinners and Gambhir with his allrounder fetish just decimated the team once for all. They can only bat on flat pitches period.

I agree when GG joined all went downhill for Rohit in Tests.

 

Pitches against England at home last year were good, Rohit scored 2 100’s as well, lots of players were missing in the series and captained well.

 

Things were working well, I guess GG wanted to show something different.

 

If ain’t broken don’t try to fix it.

 

GG got quite lucky in England tour with Gill hitting purple patch out of nowhere, even that series could have been 3-1 to England.

Jaiswal couldn’t get past new ball here too but those pitches were more awful.

 

First test was true green track so he was not doing anything there . Other two he failed but I still think he is far better than all bozos who played here and this pitch was far better.

I will rather watch Rohit bat then this mediocre line up even at 38, the home season has been atrocious no batsmanship whatsoever. So boring, 3 day mediocre test matches.

 

It makes so much sense for Rohit to be playing tests if he is going to play 2027 ODI WC to stay in good touch.

 

Don’t club Rohit with Virat who was in poor form for 5 years straight in test cricket.

Sundar/Axar are the same, as bowlers nothing great.

 

You need to try leg spinning all rounder Shreyas Gopal from Karnataka, solid ranji seasons for years. As Kuldeep not available for 2nd test.

 

Another good Bumrah performance in defeat.

Remove Gambhir from equation, India was Winning NZ series and also here. This moron has ruined whole team and made them into a mess.

India lost test series at home since 2000:

 

2-0 VS SA (2000)

2-1 VS AUS (2004)

2-1 VS ENG (2012)

3-0 VS NZ (2024)

 

There is usually a big gap between test series defeat at home so hoping for a win in 2nd test but signs are not too great.

 

The above seems a pattern, next series defeat should be 2040 but I doubt.
