Just yesterday the whites were doing a peaceful protest and the islamists started changing allah hu Akbar and throwing rocks and threatened to hang them. Same playbook everywhere.

ISIS has been defeated in its place of origin. But so many Muslims worldwide even today, draw inspiration from it. Tells you a lot, doesn't it?

I have always believed that ISIS practices Islam in its truest sense. Their prophet was the Abu Bakr Baghdadi of his time, in 7th century Arabia. Seen enough verses in Quran to see how people may choose that path, I mean if they truly believe in their holy book, is there any other choice?

Apart from the economic angle, libbus and 'moderate' Muslims often use the persecution bogey to justify Islamic terrorism.

Then why don't Hindus, Christians, Parsis, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains blow themselves up in Afg, Pak, BD where they are persecuted? Or the few remaining Jews in Iran and Egypt? Yazidis have undergone worst kinds of atrocities in Iraq, Syria but you don't see someone from their community take revenge for that via terror acts? Or Coptic Christians of Egypt who just like Sindhi Hindus, see their girls being abducted, raped, converted and married off on a daily basis?

And why do Muslims indulge in terror activities where they are majority? Not just 50-60% majority like Nigeria, but also places like Afg, Pak, Syria, Iraq where they are 98-100%? When Al Qaeda comes, finding their Islam not strict enough, an even more sinister group like IS takes over, never ending vicious cycle where humanity is the loser.

There are many problems with the Quran and Islam(especially when looking at them through the lens of modernity) but calling ISIS , Islam in it's truest sense is incredibly reductive.

The closest thing you have to an Islamic state is probably Malaysia

Nah, in SE Asia, Islam has become tempered due to interactions with Hindu/Buddhist customs.

What their prophet did with Banu Qurayza tribe (former allies) is what ISIS did in its rampage in the 2010s. Same with sex slaves, and iconoclasm.

Main problem with Islam is that it can't be reformed. It was written for a backward, barbarian culture in 7th century Arabia. At a time when civilizations in Roman Empire, India, China, Persia and Egypt were far more civilized, and thriving.

We have the old testament and new testement, reform judaism, and dharmic religions like Hinduism/Buddhism have always adapted and self corrected. That is why no Hindu today gives a damn about Manusmriti, throughout the ages new texts replaced the outdated (look at the works of Adi Sankara, Basava, Ramanuja who reconciled various paths and fought ills like the caste system). In fact even Buddha and Mahavira rejected what they saw as flaws in the dharmic system and came up with offshoots, same with Sikh Gurus in medieval times. But all that was done without any bitterness (few acts of violence but political in nature, nothing like jihad) or ill will, just intellectual disagreements. Today many Hindu households have photos of Lord Buddha and Guru Nanakji in their puja rooms. Sikhs have to visit Badrinath temple to complete their Hemkund yatra. And Buddhists in Cambodia, Thailand are a regular at Hindu temples, Jains and Hindus are almost indistinguishable.

In our case, reforms have been happening even in the modern era, where intellectual giants like Vidyasagar, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Dayananda, Vivekananda have challenged old shastras, superstitious/unscientific/unjust nonsense and given us a code more amenable to modern times. Scholars are free to look at Ramayan with a new light, even look at Lord Ram as a human being with flaws while sympathizing with Maa Sita, and reject verses composed 2000 years ago. If a Muslim tries doing that to Quran even in so called progressive Muslim majority countries, we know what will happen.

That is not exceptional to Islam. Sex slavery is suggested in part in Deuteronomy in the Old Testament as well and even Moses asks his followers to kill adultering women and to "take" the young virgins for themselves .

The only kind of exceptionalism that Islam suffers from is the the sanctity of the Quranic text as the unadulterated word of God.  Other texts are equally problematic.

They aren't even considered Islamic by the "scholars" of Arabian Peninsula. The translated verse simple resist any concept of co-existence.

To be a truly Islamic country, everyone should believe in Allah, and if an islamic individual is living with a kaafir, he should punish the non believer in the worst way possible.

As long as even one non believer is alive and breathing. The command of Allah will remain unfulfilled.
