Giving him all the power is wrong move itself. Captain should have more power. And selectors should have backing to drop big players

I agree but how do you stop ,  Kumble was also like it but he unlike GG didn’t play politics.

Kohli was strong leader and great player so he could overcome Kumble . Rohit was needed to take care of transition

Losing against NZ has to do lot with GG trying to gain power , same in Australia. But people were rejoicing after Rohit was let go.

We are still in transition.

We are in doldrums and crisis, transition could have been lot smoother, had it been done smoothly with proper communication.

It would not have been a disaster like this,

Sen wasnt FastTracked. He had to prove his performance for 4-5 years, and also after a sensational Duleep Trophy he was considered.

Its badluck that he got back strain after one game and then BCCI dropped the ball in favour of Jaydev Unadkut & Mukesh Kumar.

Even Akashdeep got his due way late.

wtc points risk, they tried to avert this decline by going with so called seasoned pros like undi and mukesh but it didn't stop the inevitable to happen

Reason ,I hate this ,bring in best fast bowling coaches, scouts, bio mechanics experts to work on it

Selectors should be watching each and every FC,list A game going forward, work on pitches as well low bounce greentops innthe domestics are recipe for disaster with developing bharibojh level bowlers

Umran got injured just this yr, but he is neglected way before his injury, same thing for sen he was available then went for knee injury , now also he is available.

Ind team has wasted their time with Saini (being selected for A tours), Unadkat, Mukesh, Avesh, mavi etc.. where are they now. And in other tours they selected bowler like Rasik, Aquib (UP) etc,

Hm I don't think he was neglected

Played LOI after his good IPL season

Played for the A team when I think he had no or maybe 1 FC match- that is unheard of and he was rightly fast tracked because of his attributes. He has had various niggles over the years and anyway needs more than just his pace he doesn't swing the ball or anything

You mention the players India "wasted time on" I think there were no better alternatives.

Ind played below bowler rather than developing other bowler when it was losing bowler like Umesh, Ishant, shami...

Unadkat-- Why was he included when he was to warm the bench, a better option would have been to induct a newer bowler

Avesh-- He never improved from being a B level team to even Full strength side even in white-ball

Khallel-- think he is content with IPL contracts,

Mukesh-- Apart from being good in t20i, he was more or less RA nothing bowler and then he was selected for tests and Odis.

Saini -- Was still playing in Ind -A till the last tour?? what was the point of it.

Deshpandey-- He was given 1 series for what reason and aim ?

Check the A tours and other emrg. cups and Asian games :::

Kambooj, Aquib, salman, Hangerkar ... etc  <-- Are/were they going to be Ind's next bowlers ???

Who are next gen Indian fast bowlers,

I don't think it is Harshit, Brar nor Akshdeep.Akashdeep has some ability but his fitness is just not there, he was spent force after one test where he took 10 wickets. Who is left.

Siraj is this generation's Ishant, he always runs in hard and gives his 100%.He does well when he is leader of the pack but somehow his combo with Bumrah is not bringing his best.

If you are looking for instant test level Ind fast bowler there is none, historically Ind bowlers take a lot of time to develop. Siraj was also mocked before Aus series.

Istant and Umesh took years to develop.

Only bhumrah/Shami/Bhuvi had instant success .

I have been already saying our pace bowling is declining fast

That decline is more evident when you see none of the earmarked backups have shown promise

Need to chalk out plans ,to work at war footing on this

You said war footing..

To be honest..I just follow chats here about Test matches..I havent seen last few tests of India..as they look likr minnows as someone said earlier..

and are always poorly performing..even against Bangladesh they struggled a bit..

have lost excitement of watching India Test matches due to this team..

Even if you are ynder transition you cant get clean swept like this at home..we didnt even have Rabada bowling..

Okay but who should have played instead of all of those?  Gurnoor Brar and say Yudhvir Charak should have been tried earlier but they emerged relatively recently bit later than those guys you've named

I am not but guys like Brar is 25 and he has played one FC .

Guy like Harshit first needs to become fit ,

You are wrong, Ishant always had ability to bowl long spells with reasonable economy. He was reaching 150 in  his first away series in Australia where he was able to bowl  long spells with decent economy.

He never had ability to become strike bowler which proved to be right till he retired.

Siraj always had ability but he was/is not going be under 25 bowler.

Umesh again had raw pace and very good outswinger, what he lacked was consistency which he never showed  even in last test.

I don’t see even that initial spark needed in these guys.

Tyagi had that spark so did Mayank but both are nowhere to be found.

Yes mentioned this multiple time faster bowlers do not get FC games, they prove to be counter productive. Have posted that why they are expensive in FCC.

Isant had multiple up and down before he became a reliable bowler for Ind in tests, Same with Umesh he was out of Ind team and then under Kolhi and sastri both got chances and Improved.

As said Ind wasted time with RA/LA nothing kind of bowlers when it was losing Isnat and  Umesh.

Guys like Umran/Sen/Harshit/Simar/Barar/Yudvir/Arsad/Arora/Yash Thakur(tests)  <-- They all have bit of spar and basic ingredients

Gurnoor Brar has played so many FC games ? Are you thinking about some other Brar ?

He is a regular for Punjab since last year FC and has consistently bowled lot of overs for India A as well.

Domestic scene is pretty bare when it comes to good fast bowlers.

Even so called good swing bowlers are non existent.  There are not even Boobie bhaiya, RP Singh level talent or Shami Umesh Aaron type guys in FC cricket anymore.

There are few but extremely raw and barely given opportunity at highest level.

Condition of FC cricket is pretty dire in the country.

Let's hope we find couple of good ones in the U19 set up

Deepesh Devendran of TN is hyped to be a skillful bowler in U19 set up.
