Aadi is not a expert, he is a YouTuber who is peddles pro establishment agenda.  Don't expect neutrality and expert opinion from him.

Shiv Aroor is a renowned defence journalist, he knows what's he talking about and so are Navy veterans and ex chief of Naval staff.

He is not a mere YouTuber. He is from a veterans family. His father was in IAF.

Shiv Aroor maybe a defense journalist - but he is not an expert on international maritime law or geopolitics.

The Iranian ship was outside of Indian waters and it has itself to blame to lurk around this region much after the naval exercise. What happened to jt is not moral because it was not an armed ship. But it is not our responsibility either. Nor do we have the means or wherewithal to control the IOR.

Do the admirals whose outrage you are citing believe we have the means to govern and control the entire IOR ?

We are living in a world today where international law has gone for a toss and it is law of the jungle. Why blame ourselves for something we did not cause nor have moral responsibility for ?

As i said, should have stayed docked in vizag. Was bound for kochi.

The usa has been building up in ME since december. Am surprised Iran allowed a warship to go to india.

GOI can't issue a statement? Indian naval presence in the the region can't join in the rescue efforts? Nothing of that sort is happening. Just pin drop silence.

Nobody is asking India to join the war. But we can't keep being phattus when it comes to standing against the imperial forces.

Talk is cheap.

Imagine that you've invited someone for dinner and after a hearty meal on the way back the guests are waylaid by robbers and executed. Some of the bodies are still in the car. Do we not collect the bodies and prepare them for a funeral at least?

There are a lot of geopolitical experts here.

A genuine question.

US/Israeli attack on Iran had no sanction in the UN general assembly, or the US senate. The stated reason was that Iran is sponsoring various terror groups in the region and is making nuclear weapons. Another stated reason is that US is trying to liberate the Iranian people from tyranny and empower women. They did that by blowing up a girls school killing 160 odd students.

Similarly, India has been at the end of US state sponsored terrorism. US has been funding Pakistan knowing very well where that money goes. USA gave Pak a bailout during Op Sindoor. USA has limited access to terrorists like Headley. Perhaps they are scared that he would spill the beans. The list of American funded/influenced terror on India and its subsequent body count is large.

Can India be justified to take out the head (figuratively, not literally) of the snake? Decapitating strike against Donald Trump. Use the existing fault lines in the US. Perhaps some Democratic party supporter may help us. Perhaps even a Republican who wants him gone. And in the process liberate the US from a terror funding, war mongering narcissist.

So was Swara Bhasker, doesn't mean we should take their opinions on face value.

Yar everyone is giving different opinions.

As you mentioned retd. Navy Admirals are giving one opinion, the retd. Army General's like DP Pandey are giving another.

Likes of Kanwal Sibal & GD Bakshi are one end while likes of Ajay Raina are at the different end of spectrum. Sabki apni apni rae hai. Sanjay Dixit, Abhijit Chavda, Gen Rajiv Narayanan, Gen PR Shankar, Adi Achint sabke opinions alag alag hai ek dusre se.

Opinions will always be different but one has to look at the facts before forming opinions. Act is uncalled for, yes, but India couldn't have done anything in this case as it was far away from Indian waters.

It wasn't far away from Indian waters. But it wasn't in Indian waters.

India shouldn't take this lying down though. India and SL aren't involved in this war, trying to drag them in doesn't make sense

It was 75 km away from SL cost so must be 200-300 km away from Indian cost.

The war is practically over imo. Iran as an armed force is done. Now it's only question of how much further collateral damage either side wants. US will have complete control on airspace in matter of days.
