The western puppet regime of Shah was not good for india especially during 1971 war as it was pro USA. After 1979 the Mulla regime has been somewhat good for india as india wanted close ties with Iran because it is Pakistan’s Neighbour, just like india wants to be closer to Afghanistan as well. Iran is a terrorist state is part of IRGC policy, but india has diplomatic and economic ties with Iran the civilian government. Until 2015 when the US impose sanctions on Iran, india was buying oil and gas from Iran. Even today, India’s exporting rice, and medicines to Iran, which it can’t cut ties off. Absolutely on point, coffee anna. The Pahlavis enabled weapons transfers to Pakistan during both the '65 and '71 wars. There's no need to romanticise those brutal dictators/Western puppets. Islamic Iran, for all its faults ,has been far better for India. bsriharsha, coffee_rules and Lone Wolf 1 2
G_B_ Posted April 10 Posted April 10 In long run i think us plan is venezuela will process 4 to 5 million of oil. This will further blunt oil through hormuz. The issue is that Iran attack came too soon. Venezuela is going to take 5 years of investment to reach that figure.

And is too viscous to be made into petroleum. While Venezuelan Oil is plenty, The process of extracting it is way too tedious. Same goes for Canadian Oil. Both the oils are for different purposes. \\https://theconversation.com/why-big-oil-is-not-interested-in-venezuela-275763 Edited April 10 by bsriharsha

And then, on the other hand, there are some Indian buddhijeeviis, who stated that India and Iran are civilizational friends and india should support Iran for that reason!!! what civilization? Persian civilization was wiped out in 15 years in the seventh century AD when they converted to Islam by force on the power of the sword. Since then it is all about Islamic culture. There is nothing left of the persian civilization in the area, except for language and some cultural stuff like dress or cuisine, etc.. even the language and script is highly influenced by Arabic.
