Gollum Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Amidst all this Tariq hype, don't forget their best bowler, Abrar.

They have won only 1 T20 cup, that too 5 years ago, when even west indies and England have 2. That is all time. Post 2024 they have been 2nd best with some beastly hitters in Tim David and Head etc. Ofc injuries haven't helped.

However, you do need to go hard in the powerplay as that's the only time ball comes into the bst. Pakistan has been doing great with Powerplay recently. Gollum 1

Pakistan has been doing great with Powerplay recently. Yeah, something like 60-70 in PP, then run a ball for next 9-10 overs (keeping wickets in hand) and a flourish at the end to get 160-170. Anyway let us see what pitch is provided for that game. ICC may give a more balanced pitch which could push par score to 170. Because of those huge ground dimensions (goes up to 85m sometimes), 180+ will be out of reach unless against minnows. Edited February 13 by Gollum New guy 1
Gollum Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Aus couldn't chase 170 here, in fact were never in the chase, against Zimbabwe. Even in D/N, there has been no dew thus far in this tournament. Andaza laga lo.
Forward Defence Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Zimbabwe pacers have done exceeding well on this pitch. We shouldn't drop Arshdeep

I had the thought at the back of my mind that this could be an interesting contest. Would have made a thread had I followed it today, got occupied with deadlines and ****. Yeah I got that one covered Gollum 1
Gollum Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) I remember the 2012 WT20 match here (Premadasa), UG hostel memories. Similar surface, very tough in 2nd innings. Small target for us, 130 something. GG fell first ball to some rookie spinner. Kohli scored an unbeaten 80 and singlehandedly chased it down. Pooks had a formidable spin attack including Chuckmal, Chuckfeez, Afridi and this new spinner who was hyped by everyone that time. Kohli was a master of such surfaces, maneuvring the ball for singles and doubles, his emphasis on playing along the ground and dealing in boundaries, running hard. Edited February 13 by Gollum

putrevus Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Saiteja's batting style resembles Mahela. That cut is so similar to Mahela. Edited February 13 by putrevus
rkt.india Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Chennai seems to be the best batting pitch Manucrick 1

Toss wasnt the issue there. It was hitting the right length for fast bowlers. India did it better than Pakistan
Ultimate_Game Posted February 13 Posted February 13 @Gollum, changing the topic here... what's going on with Indian Hockey???? They were beaten by Belgium in the first game of FIH Pro League and were thrashed by Argentina 8-0 in the 2nd game. India is currently second from the last with only Pakistan below them. I thought we had gotten better and were one of the top 4or 5 teams in the world and here we're getting hammered by Argentina like minnows. Very disappointing Gollum 1
