When you add that unwavering focus on money to the ICC behaving similarly, you get this ridiculous rigmaore of artifically manufactured India-Pak games at least a few times every year despite them being damp squibs as sporting contests. If BCCI had strong leadership and not Babus, they would just cut the cord, take any monetary hit but snap all sporting ties with Pakistan and move on. This model of being at war with Pakistan but continuing to keep playing them if neither sustainable or wirth it even commercially I would argue. Spot on. Jay Shah has turned out to be a disappointment. Should not have engaged Pakistan and should have simply let Pakistan get cooked in the pressure cooker that they have put themselves in the first place by their tweets and Shehbaz Sharif claiming that they won't play India in their parliament. Pakistan would have found it difficult to concoct a face saver story without any response from ICC. Now they will claim ICC and BCCI bowed to their demands and their care for Bangladesh cricket and friendship for Sri Lanka made them change their decision. New guy and lemsip 2

They are going to declare victory whatever happens anyway. Just have to leave them to it. Now it seems India will have to thrash them on the field once again to wrap it up. I fully expect USA to beat Pak on Tuesday so India have the opportunity to land the blow to dump them out of the tournament. That will be a lot sweeter than PR victory laps.

He is their interior minister btw, what a joker lol. His ego is hurt, He played his game. Sacrificed Bangla cricket hoping he will show the world that he got BCCI to back down on ACC matches stand. ICC simply said , eff you. However seems like Bulbul from Bangladesh has taken over , or more aptly, dont care for Nazrul of Zamaat as Feb 12 elections of Bangladesh is here. So sanity is back in Bangla camp. As soon as sanity came back in Bangla Camp, PCB realised that their tantrums have no takers and outcome is nothing but strict action. So its over now Edited February 8 by mishra
mishra Posted February 8 Posted February 8 BTW, Jay Shah has made his position clear to PCB. play or be ready to suffe and deal with lower level staff of ICC. Meaning Naqvi has been told that he has no auqaat to discuss the issue with Jay Shah. BCCI has said, they dont care about PCB stand. lets just prey no UTurn by Pakistan

Frustrated Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Only 5 days left. We still don't know if the match would take place. Don't recall any such thing happening in an ICC tournament in recent years.

This wouldn't be a problem if like the old days we had only one in 2-3 yrs at best. We are having 2 every year sometimes now so everytime this charade has to play out. I am starting to believe some of their claims of India Pakistan matches bringing upwards of 200m dollars revenue to be true. They wouldn't be so belligerent if that is not the case and ad revenue must be consistently high for the broadcasters to miss out on these games.

Same drama in 2009 IPL.
Tillu Posted February 9 Posted February 9 16 minutes ago, deathmonger said: They are delusional idiots who over value themselves. Same drama in 2009 IPL. Why can't the ICC and BCCi be a little transparent in their dealings which will put an end to all these speculations. Why don't they provide a game by game revenue breakup of all the teams playing in a tournament. Congress showed more spine in banning their players from IPL and the bilateral series. I am starting to believe this would have never happened under the current government who are just washing away their hands with overtly superficial things like no handshake policy. New guy 1
