Especially with pancreatic problems and BP. thank you The source of a medication (Ayurvedic, homeopathic, Western, Unani, CTM) is irrelevant. The question is - has it been proven to be safe and effective for a specific outcome as determined by double-blind randomized clinical trials? If not, I would not recommend it. When I had hyperthyroidism, I asked my allopathic endocrinologist for publications showing clinical trial results for safety and efficacy of her prescription. She emailed them to me with no hesitation. Also, when one says pancreatic problems - what exactly are we talking about? Pancreatitis caused by a viral infection? Pancreatic cancer? Diabetes (insulin is a pancreatic hormone, so T1 diabetes may be considered a pancreatic problem). You can't paint with a broad brush. Specific conditions require specific treatments even if they pertain to the same organ. Edited February 18 by BacktoCricaddict zen, diga, Tillu and 1 other 1 2 1
BacktoCricaddict Posted February 18 Posted February 18 On a related note, my friend's mother in Bengaluru used an Ayurvedic preparation regularly every day for 7 years. She landed in the hospital and had to be treated for lead poisoning due to contamination in the preparation. How common is it? I am not sure, but I've seen enough case studies to advise caution.

I don't know about the seeds, but guava juice shouldn't cause any harm, except for the boatload of added sugar possibly (unless mom/dad squeezed it themselves). However, I doubt that it will help in any way. Best wishes.

So basically leaves barely have sugar and it did help but he had to go roam to india for some reason singhvivek141, zen and BacktoCricaddict 3

And bill is 40-50k usd but not admit me cuz they suppose to monitor me. Ok insurance can cover 80% after detectable, still doctors r getting worse here in texas

The scientific basis is there, but the listening skills and ability to treat the patient with care is missing. And then they wonder why people drift towards unproven products sold by unscrupulous people.

BacktoCricaddict Posted February 18 Posted February 18 ^^ That pictured guava juice has a boatload of sugar. It reminds me this social media outrage against Bournvita a few years ago. There was this guy complaining that they had 37 g of sugar per 100 g of bournvita and that is bad for kids and multinationals are killing Indians etc. So, I asked my WhatsApp group buddies for an alternative and they suggested Chyavanprash. So, Akshar brand: 66.66 g sugar per 100 g chyavanprash Dabur brand: 72 - 76 g sugar per 100 g Silence followed when I pointed this out. But maybe someone forwarded it to Dabur, because they now have a sugar-free version ;-)! Chaos, Lord and Tillu 3

ravishingravi Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Don't believe it. It works. Works like magic in some cases. Definitely not prescribed for critical cases which require surgery or immediate addressal Lord 1
Gollum Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I just consume Ashwagandha to deal with stress and insomnia, think that counts as Ayurveda. Last 6 months or so, I have been taking Magnesium Glycinate and Ashwagandha to help with my sleep. Self-medication. I have experienced good results, but dunno if it is because of the medicine.
Ranvir Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I always say try conventional medicine first and only try alternatives if it fails. If you go to a Chinese medicine person they'll often tell you to do the opposite of what the Ayurvedic practitioner is telling you to do. So who is right? Lord 1
Nikhil_cric Posted February 19 Posted February 19 It depends on what your issues are. Try to get as accurate a diagnosis as possible, first of all. I have had respiratory problems, obstructive sleep apnea and fibromyalgia for years and Ayurveda is complete crap for any of those. Chaos and singhvivek141 2
putrevus Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Money can be earned back.Don't let deductibles stop you from getting proper treatment. Get proper diagnosis and stick to it. Good luck. Chaos 1
Chaos Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 Thank you for input guys. Ijust hate hospital er wait for results and they wake up whenever and loud babering all time between workers
coffee_rules Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) It does work for me, for my condition. It may not work for everybody, there is no one size that fits all. If your condition worsens don’t just blindly follow alternate medicine you have to fall back to allopathy for Major chronic diseases Edited February 19 by coffee_rules Lord and Nikhil_cric 1 1
