New guy Posted March 9 Posted March 9 All the puja path, changing hotels and double hard work of our players overcome the panauti. But our players shouldn't need to do that. Let them play in other stadiums with more peace of mind. Gollum, vvvslaxman and Mariyam 3
Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Ban 100% black soil pitches in the future, wish 23 final had been played on a mixed soil surface like yesterday's match. And the new anti-dew spray is working, a revolutionary change for cricket in Asia. New guy and Forever Indian 2

Cummins said he will silence the crowd. Actually the crowd is more silent today lol Cummins over-rated himself. Manucrick and Lone Wolf 2

My rankings of cricket stadiums are based on the ones I have been to! 1) Wankhede 2) NaMo (been here for a concert) 3) Chepauk 4) Jaipur (Sawai Mann Singh?) 5) Eden 6) Brabourne 7) Subroto Roy Stadium on the express highway near Pune 8) Balewadi (been here for a wedding) 9) DY Patil From purely vibes basis don't think any stadium comes to closer to Pune MCA stadium. It's as good as an open stadium as Edgbaston Birmingham.. I am yet to see a more beautiful stadium under lights than the MCA Pune. Pitch is amazing as well. Mariyam 1

That's in Pune too. Very bad experience there. Had gone for a wedding/reception. the ground was so uneven. I was walking with my plate of poorly catered food to the seating area and dropped a whole lot of food because the ground was just soft + uneven. My foot sunk in. And I was wearing fans. Can't believe professional cricketers play on this without getting injured.
Mariyam Posted March 9 Posted March 9 @G_B_ @Gollum What is your ranking of the various Indian stadia?
Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Just now, Mariyam said: @G_B_ @Gollum What is your ranking of the various Indian stadia? Have attended games only in 5-6 venues, so can't tell. But I am a sucker for traditional test centres (Eden, Wankhede, Chepauk, Chinnaswamy...) and Dharamsala. Even Kotla is fine because of the history and it being our fortress, can't say I am a fan of aesthetics and pollution is a big concern. Mariyam 1

Honestly i have been to wankhede dy patil (preferred the later) and the pune stadium (new one). So very localised. Not in position to rank indian grounds. Pune is the better stadium but getting there is problematic. Apart from that been to lords oval and ageas bowl (or whatever its called now) near southampton hampshire. Firstly, English grounds offer a better fan expirience. That should not come as a shocker. Even the surrounding infra is better. Oval is my preference. However, ticket prices at these grounds for test cricket is around £150 or Rs 18,000 for normal seats. At these rates you would expect the best. Mariyam 1
Sandz Posted March 9 Posted March 9 We need to build more modern stadiums like this throughout the country, can’t just have one world class stadium, need a few more atleast. Does BCCI help with funding, or is it upto state associations? Mariyam 1

This development (design idea) started 15 years ago when he was the cricketing admin for Gujarat. There will be an entire sports complex built. There is a business idea in place with a concert economy which is supported by tax waivers from the state gov. @Mariyam can correct me but there are still infra snags. Hotel rooms are not adequate. There is a dearth of 3 star hotels for 40 to 50k people flying in. Mariyam 1

NaMo is supposed to have been funded by Gujarat Cricket Association.
