FYI, many venues including Kolkata, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur  etc, use black soil pitches. Venues like Ahmedabad and Mumbai have various types of pitches.

Yes, but india only gets to play on black soil pitch when playing at Ahmedabad.

Also, if it's not black soil which is causing our losses then it's 100% confirmed that the stadium itself is panauti

You must have a great confirmation algorithm - if India plays poorly, it is not India, it is something else

No, but if India is only playing poorly in one venue, and playing great everywhere else, including overseas, the conclusion is obvious.

If India was playing poorly in any other venue and losing, I wouldnt blame this one venue.

India has won important games here including the 2011 QF versus Aus - PS Link

On the other hand, India had lost the 1987 SF to England at Wankhede and 1996 SF to Sri Lanka at Kolkata.

2011 QF was played at the old Motera.

Not at this new giant concrete abomination that is NaMo.

It is the same stadium.

And people like the completely renovated stadium, often referred to as the “modern marvel”, which also has a temple around it if I am not wrong.

PPS

On March 8, I would put the Kiwis as the marginal favorite as India has helped its win its first CT title in 2000 and its first WTC title in 2021. So it would not surprise me, if India helps it again to win its first T20 title.

For India to change the dynamics, it would have to play focused and ruthless cricket. It would be difficult for Samson to play 3 match winning innings in a row so others have to step up.

How is it the same stadium? Just because it's built at the same place...it automatically becomes the same stadium?

It was built from scratch btw...not renovated. Old Motera was demolished and this new soul-less giant abomination was built.

Same ground. Obviously if a stadium with increased capacity and world class facilities is to be built, the old structures will be demolished unless one goes with apartment style stands to manage costs or a lack of relatively high budget.

“Soul less” is an opinion, and hopefully a minority one - one can’t please everyone esp. if there are hidden agendas (including politics, jealousy, etc).

After BJP/Modiji taking Congress to task for naming everything after Gandhi and Nehru(very justified criticism), they did exactly the same thing in this case. This stadium having a docile atmosphere inspite of massive capacity and complete bad luck for the cricket team is karmic intervention.

That was Motera. This is Panauti Modi stadium.

If India loses another final in this stadium then will BCCI realise that maybe using another ground as a Marquee final allocation is better?

They would've wasted Bumrah and our home advantage by insisting on playing finals at this abomination.

I know its a fun thread but even sensible posters like MTC are blinded in their hatred for Modi that they are saying its a panauti stadium with only 1 knockout match as a datapoint. Can it be an outlier? For it to be panauti, you need a sample size of 5 or more knockout matches in that stadium
