Dhurandar 2 was definitely more enjoyable for me than Dhurandar 1.

The attention to detail and research is at levels seen very rarely in Bollywood movies.

The cinematography ( replicating Karachi ) is also unbelievably real.

The dialogue " Ghayal hoon isleyi Ghaatak hoon " will live on decades.

You know when a movie is a fictional propoganda your adversary's reaction will make it obvious --- most of this actually happeend and Karachiites know it.

What i like the most about this movie is - it has smashed the monopoly of Salman "bhai" who thinks that there is an unsaid understanding in bollywood that  Eid releases are locked exclusively for his movies.

This movie is a big F U to Bollywood mafia - YRF, Dharma Productions and Khans and other Pak sympathisers

The monologue by sanyal saab about "being mard" is simply :hatsoff:.

My idea of a *real* hit movie is where dialogues, songs and clothing/hair styles are remembered. And imitated.

Case in point: Andaaz Apna Apna. Not a hit commercially, but I could recollect most of the dialogues.

Can't for D1 and D2, albeit its not a genre I enjoy.

Then silent movies would not have a chance to be on your list

I would have also liked the director to post the real pics of the people who committed atrocities .Because most foreigners who watch are not able to figure out what is real and what isnt.

It is a film which claims any resemblance to anyone living or dead as coincidental. It only weaves in real events to tell a fictional story much like in Hey Ram which took the assassination of Gandhi and Hindu-Muslim riots to tell its story.

Why attempt to make a movie more than what it is supposed to be?

At the end of the day, it is a vehicle for entertainment, NOT a documentary (it does not claim to be one), not another tool for the social media trolls to spam their agenda, not an attack on behalf of India (if such a film is made in Pakistan, would be bother?), not a medium to educate foreigners (as if they care in general), …

I see a variety of funny posts where people are using the film to attack anything from religion, political parties, other actors and film makers, to so on!

A stylized 80s badla movie at best.

80s had a few memorable badla and/or action Bollywood movies:

Karz (1980)

Qurbani (1980)

Shakti (1982)

Vidhaata (1982)

Janbaaz (1986)

Karma (1986)

Naam (1986)

Mr. India (1987)

Parinda (1989)

Ram Lakhan (1989)

Shiva (1989) … PS the Hindi remake was released in 1990

Tridev (1989)

Dhurandhar 2 is not necessarily a masala film as some of the ingredients of a masala film such as romance, comedy, song and dance sequences, etc, are missing.

It is focused action film - in a way a serious Hollywood type action film made by Bollywood.

PS Dhurandhar 1 can be classified as a masala film as it had song and dance sequences (in marriage ceremonies for example), romance, and elements of comedy through characters such as Rakesh Bedi.

Haven't seen 2 yet, and from the reviews here - especially length - I may not.

If “length” is an issue,  watch the first half, and then leave after the “unknown men” chapter in the second half. Catch the remaining film on streaming. :p:

First half is exceptional!

Both Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar 2 would have done additional 400-500 crore each in collections if not for the ban in GCC countries.

Million of Indian and Pak expats would have watched.

Iski  itni kyon jali hain? She doesn’t understand the concept of a fictional story or artistic freedom.

Asked what her criticism of the movie is she cries for a whole minute about how she was unable to get a ticket for the movie.

She has issues with fiction glorifying a leader, I must have missed her critical review of jodha Akbar.

Eggs are the best. Anything else is not required.
