They did that in 1999 wc when sa lost to zim. Elimated England from super 6. Also India basically ended the super 6 with 0 carry over points.

 

It was calculated by Sa. They knew zim would loose all games despite having 4 carry over points and india would have to win v pak aus and nz. So they effectively fixed their semi place.

Michael vaughan even in commentary box will sound over-confident. After Australia was bowled out for 123 runs and they started scoring quickly.  Vaughan was bragging like "This is what this England team can do.. ".   Gilchrsit was very modest. He didn't brag at any point. Within one session a nightmare unfolded infront of vaughan . Aussie commies were gentles with Michael even after sound thrashing. This guy was bragging at every chance.  He  can go overboard both with criticism and hype.

Click bait. There were two scenarios that could have been manipultated

 

1) Had SA deliberately lost to WI and beaten Zimbabwe without choking They would have faced England, NZ would have faced SA. This is a risky strategy as SA could choke against zimboks.

2) Had England deliberately lost hteir dead rubber they would have faced SA instead of India. This one would have been a good strategy if you ask me. 

 

I thinkn in te common wealth series India had to beat SL in certain number of overs to keep their run rate above SL. Kohli's comign of age innings. But Australia just had to beat SL. But they lost that match by 9 runs and eliminated India.  Some say they deliberately lost. But SL was a decent team too then.

That is beacuse we have infinite things that divide us. Language, religion, caste, faith. As per my X algorithm there is nothing more causing divisiveness than IPL.  They literally pray for India's failure in the world cup. RCB Fans that is. Because they do not want KOhli's legacy to be overshadowed.
