LSG team sucks, why isn’t he given a shot. He has some killer Yorkers. He is excellent for T20 and can slog  well,  has the genes too.

C’mon!!! time to give him go. I think he  will do well. He even skipped his honeymoon for IPL, puts in the hard yards and definitely better than a lot of other trundlers on display.

justice for Arjun Tendulkar.

Posted (edited)

Arjun opened in this season Smat for Goa hardly able to put bat to ball think his sr was below 125 . And when he played few games in IPL he was bowling sub 135 kmph

Lsg should give chance to Naman Tiwari in upt20 he was bowling 140+kmph and touched 145 kmph on effort ball.

Nope. Nepo-baby doesn't deserve a chance. He is already in IPL thanks to his dad but forcing him into playing XI is too much.

As Sachin’s son he can have a luxurious life doing what he wants.

he can easily improve his batting and become a batsmen but he wants to put the hard yards to improve his fast bowling which is the most difficult job in cricket.

always gives a 100%, always disciplined and always  on full intensity in practice etc  never had any attitude issues or indiscipline issues, good and humble kid and a team player.

one of those cases where nepotism should be used as a good example of how to be in the shadow and keep plugging away. Total respect for Arjun.

deserves a shot imho.

Nope. Just because you want to "improve" shouldn't get you over others, which is already happening. Similar to one of the Birla kids who forced himself into a Ranji team and average 20s with the bat but still played ahead of more deserving players just because of his family connections. Arjun Tendulkar is the same. He'll continue to hang around coz of his last name but he's taking chances away from a more deserving player.

If he hadn't been Tendulkar's son he would've disappeared long ago and in fact wouldn't even have made an appearance. He has been touted as a batter, an all-rounder and a bowler just to make way for him, and he's none of these. He doesn't deserve spot in the team for any role as he isn't good enough.

Do no think Arjun should get a chance over naman twari also a LA fast , but do not think Arjun is that bad as some post says. but if he still on the bench there is nothing wrong with it.

Yes he is not the top talent/potential but there are similar if not worse players playing in ipl and in Ind domestic. Its just he is Sachin's son so he gets lot of attention but there is nothing that says he is worse than all/most of domestic players.

There are lot of sub 135 kmph bowlers playing in IPL there are many who have not even played in Ind domestic. If he improves he should get a chance to play.

Arjun has taken cricket seriously, its not a timepass for him, he has worked hard , always available to  play full domestic season--plays all 3 formats.

As mentioned have not heard anything bad about him, in terms of attitude which could come because of the influence his father has on Ind cricekt.

He is top talent ??--No , Is he avg Ind domestic player like many others ??--yes , Is he the worse potential ?-->> No , player worse then him have represented Ind, in intnl.

What about justice for ICF that we still keep asking for justice for players for their last names rather than actual performances :orderorder:

Simple question is - If Arjun Tendulkar was say Arjun Tiwari, would he have gotten the same treatment? He would've struggled to make it to Syed Mushtaq Ali tourney and wouldn't have made it to IPL. And even if say he somehow managed to get into an IPL team as an extended squad member, he would've been let go in a season or two. But here folks are making it seem as if a grave injustice has been done in not selecting Arjun and as if he "deserves" to be in the team. That's a slap in the face of numerous cricketers who slog every day to get to this level to see someone like Arjun Tendulkar handed a spot coz of his last name.

Answer is yes, A LA tall seamer will make into domestic side and one who is available to play all 3 formats yes they will make it to domestic cricket there are 32 teams in Ind.

So domestic -- Clear ans is yes.

Now lets look at who has played in IPL -- Sakaria, Vinay Kumar, Unadkat.. etc all sub 135 kmph seamers they also played for Ind intnl, so yes a tall fast bowler esp. LA will get into IPL, Ashwini MI is sub 135 kmph. Kamboj bowling 125 kmph played test fr Ind.

As said before he is not the top talent but he is not the worse talent there are 10 IPL teams which means need 150+ Ind players , he/some1 with similar ability can make to IPL.

Ind does not have many special bowlers and Ind domestic/IPL does not prefer faster bowler so such sub 135 kmph bowler will play and get into IPl teams.

Much hyped aquid didnt look like he is ipl level, but he got hype he bowls sub 130 kmph is not that tall either, play 10-12 years of domestic you will have 1-2 out standing season. If he plays that long he will have 1-2 outstanding season

Fake allrounders like VIjayshankar, Gautam, Lalit played in ipl for years, many others still play ipl year after years without no results.

I think we disagree on whether Arjun makes it to the top 150 Indian cricketers. My opinion is he doesn't and doesn't come anywhere close but you think that's the case.

Ques --Sakaria, kamboj, Mukesh, Vijay shankar, unadkat, mavi many others like them with no connections , did they deserve intnl cap ?? or in other top systems will they make it intl side.

The issue is Ind domestic is not filled with special or say even 140+ kmph bowlers, and those who bowl fast are kept on benches and sub 135 kmph bowlers who are neither fast nt that tall makes into the playing 11.

There are not many bhumrah/shami in ind domestic , there are not many siraj level bowlers in domestic. Its not an opinion its a fact. So Arjun and Arjun kind of bowlers will make it to IPL regardless of connections, the day system will prefer faster bowlers bowling 140 kmph then bowler like him will not make it its simple.

Umran, simarjeet, tyagi, sen, and similar bowlers either sit out or not even selected in their domestic sides.

RR has samt's top wkt taker but he is sitting out for Brijesh, vht highest wkt taker is not even selected in ipl. Last season when there were need for replacements teams wnt for sakari and thakur kind of bowler rather taking a chance with umran etc.

In fact Ind team ask for bowlers like Gurnoor, umran, etc to practice int he nets but selects mukesh, unadkat, mavi etc. Nt just opinion but its driven from facts.

All the names you mentioned did deserve their chances on the back of their domestic performances. Just like Aquib Nabi does now in Tests. They were top performers in domestic cricket and deserved to be given a chance. The problem with Arjun Tendulkar is that he doesn't have any domestic record to speak of.

TBH it's an insult to Unadkat, Kamboj and others to be compared to Arjun Tendulkar. They toiled in domestic cricket and performed there. They've the stats, numbers and performances to show. Arjun Tendulkar doesn't. You can check all of their records in domestic cricket and you can't say in all seriousness that they're equals or even in the same category as far as performance is concerned.

Wish he stayed in :mi:

Bumrah, Ha Pa and the rest would have mentored him and he’d be a very useful pacer by now.

Ha Pa would have mentored him about other things too :giggity:

Arjun is definitely not worse than Robert Minz @tapandrun @Ultimate_Game

As posted before he is not the worse talent but he is not the top talent too. Can he be in IPL side yes.

Should he be selected in the playing 11 over Naman Tiwari --No, not saying naman is top talent either but bit quicker through the air per UP t20 speedometers.

There are multiple players of same talent as Arjun or even worse have played IPL years after years and some not that good talent have played for Ind in intnl too.
