urvil is a slogger

but he is our slogger @maniac

Maybe he can be our Travis Head, remember we used to make fun of him also before he totally owned and subjugated us.

should have been in playing 11 from game 1, cak could have won 1-2 more games , can he be consistent no but even if he plays 8-12 balls he can win the pp .and reduce the extra pressure from sanju who has tp do the hitting as well as play a big innings every innings for csk to win

Has only one scoring area. But when it comes off, it comes well.

Would still have some impact in IPL for a few seasons, but keep him away from any India team

He appears to be is a certified power play pinch hitter, out in the middle to go all out without worrying about losing his wicket.

Prabhsimran was also called a hack. I told he was unselfish. Unselfish players look like hack mostly  because they even try to hit good balls. With Ruturaj mucking around he had to keep the run rate up. If you ask KL Rahul to go after every ball he will also look like  a hack.

Anyone hitting cummins, ngidi back to back sixes cannot be slightly under valued. His bat speed matches the bowlers. On this turgid pitch where cutters were harder even for normal players it was going to be a challenge for him. But i would put that down to that MoronRUturaj who did not take initiative agianst these cuter deliverie  and kept feeding strike to Samson, Urvil then Karthik. He wanted his fellow players to go after good balls but bro would take singles of crap balls

In t20s there is nothing like a hack, Players like urvil may nt fit the accepted and conventional norm of batter but any1 trying to hit 4/6 will look like a hack.

Even v.poor technique of Haris and Usman (Pak wk-batters) is not a hack. A batter has to create space between himself and the ball to get the bat swing going though.

Urvil has super bat swing and power game, a bit more refinement can improve him as a batter , he is hitting both pace and spin, he is hitting them for 85+m sixes.

How many Ind batters are hitting both pace and spin 85+m ??? Check some bbl last season highlights and see what kind of bat swing and technique will be needed.

It may not look like but he is rh version of what kishan is doing, using super bat speed to hit 6s. If it comes off it looks good if nt it wont. There is potential in him.

Next t20i wc is in Aus+NZ will need batters who can hit 80+ m 6s and batters with faster bat speeds.

There will be need of tallish batters who can hit 80+m 6s with fast bat speeds, need to give urvil some chances to see if he has intnl potential.

If looking for t20 batters stop tagging them tulla or hacks, t20 is not test, t20 is not Odis, constant 6 hitting req. diff. kind of technique.

Conventional technique will only give max of 145 sr and that will req. some kind of power game to back it up.

Urvil got the game for t20 but i don't  think he is a international materiel

That can only be judge if he is tried in t20is, t20 is 20-25 balls game its not like Odi or test.

If a batter can create an impact in those 20-25 balls is more useful than some1 hitting fiftes of 35 or more balls.

How t20s works now ---> Target 35-40 runs in 20s balls, assess from there another 10 balls so if a batter plays 30-35 balls he should be 55-60 runs

Here is the rough data of ball faced and runs scored in lst 3yrs in t20s. So on avg. an opener plays 20 balls so need to target that If a batter can out score other batters in those 20 balls should be v.useful for the side.

Batting Position Role / Description Avg. Balls Faced Avg. Runs Scored Est. Strike Rate Total Innings
Position 1 Opening Batsman 19.04 20.78 ~109.1 6,229

Position 4 Middle Order 15.34 15.91 ~103.7 6,217

Position 9 Tailender 3.14 2.39 ~76.1 6,215
Position 10 Bowler 1.96 1.28 ~65.3 6,218
