These are unimportant games. Almost all players will have up and down for a while.

Just had a look through the scorecard in cricinfo, my word the Lankans are not even trying anymore with these names.

India actually send upcoming players to all these emerging/A tours.

 

The other Asian countries basically send their second XI.

 

Dickwella, Fernando, Sadeera all have decent sized international experience and are older.

 

Except for Rutu and Tilak, all are uncapped and even they have less experience.

 

This results in India doing relatively poorly in these tours but offers better development.

 

Abhishek, Harshit etc from 2023 have already won ICC trophies while the Pakistani players who won are struggling.

SL have relatively smaller pool of players.  Most of their squads are in Carribbean for T20s and tests atm.

 

Our spin stocks are genuinely worrying.  Among Subcontinent sides perhaps we are really struggling even at the U19 level in finding half decent spin options.
