They never learn their lesson. We won the T20 WC because of that RSA match which exposed how useless Sundar was. One of the worst white ball investments in Indian cricket history. Probably GT quota is keeping him in.

Heard the rumor that Gambhir had a tiff with Axar and is no longer supporting him. He's trying to push Sundar over Axar even though Axar is miles better than Sundar. You replace Axar with Sundar the last 2 WT20s and CT and India doesn't win any tourney.

Axar is not sidelined, this series all the T20i winners are rested or pulled off stating some injury and think tm is looking to develop Sundar, if they are trying to develop sundar why not pick Padikal. Sundar is already not bowling much. 

 

Pandaya/Siraj/Kuldeep/Axar every1 is rested or pulled out off this series. Nothing wrong in that too. rt after wc they had to play IPl not much gap or rest.

If they're looking for a pure batter, there're so many better options. Patidar, Paddikal are just a couple. If the role is for a spin all-rounder, Krunal and Riyan Parag are much ahead. If it's pace all-rounder I would try Shegdge or Madhav Tiwari. Sundar is poor man's Jadeja and not even in the same ballpark as Axar. Don't really see what India and Gambhir want out of Sundar as he's a Test player just like Pant. Don't force him into a format where he doesn't have any impact.

I would pick Sai in a heartbeat! If Gill and Sai can replicate their IPL form in intls, I'm all for it! To me Sai is a long term no. 3.
