Just check out Krunal's stats and compare them to Axar's. They've very similar bowling stats (29 for Axar and 31 for Krunal) and in batting Krunal actually trumps Axar by a distance averaging 38 to 30. Check out their stats and you can't find players who're so close in skillsets and stats. Plus Krunal raises his game in big matches just like Axar! Check out List A stats for both. Essentially, what you're getting is almost a comparable bowler but a much better batter.

If I were the selector I would be thinking of how to get Sooryavanshi into the squad and here we have our bozos kicking out Jaiswal as well. How difficult is it to drop Rahul in favor of Ishan and get Sooryavanshi in, and drop fatso Rohit to fit in Jaiswal? At least make some bold calls coz this team will reach SF max and then lose just like this core team has done. Unless we move away from Rohit, Kohli and KL, nothing will change. Plus you have to factor in Kohli's drops as well compared to someone like Ishan grabbing everything. In 2007 WT20 it was all our youngsters. In the 2026 WT20 it was again our youngsters. BGT 2020-21 was all youngsters as well with likes of Shardul Thakur, Sundar, Siraj, Gill, Saini, Natrajan etc. coming to the fore. New guy and BacktoCricaddict 2

Jaiswal should have played in place of SKY in 2023.Iyer in 2019 but they picked three wicket keepers there. They should be playing Vaibhav in 2027 World Cup. These guys are not burdened by past failures. rollingstoned and New guy 2

Bhai, 20-21 BGT mein Rahane, Pujara, Ashwin, Jadeja also had starring roles, the experienced guys. It is not just all youth. Rahane captaincy, MCG 100, cameos in Gabba. His calm demanour amidst all the injuries and toss losses, youngsters also partly owe their success to their captain's man-management skills. Pujara enough said, legend put his body on the line in final 2 tests for his team. It was Pujara who broke the will of their pacers. He complemneted Pant/Gill so well in their partnerships. Aswhin who bowled so well, made peak Smith (whose average was 64+, entered that test series on the back of 2 60 ball 100s in the ODI series, he was in the mood to make us suffer again) his bunny and his role in SCG draw. Outbowled Lyon massively which was key. Check Smith's struggles in the pink ball 1st innings, 1(29) finally succumbing to Ashwin, one of the best passages of test cricket I have ever witnessed...a spinner with new ball on a greentop dominating the greatest test batsman, every ball was absolute cinema. That set the tone for the rest of the series. Jaddu and his partnership with Rahane in MCG, his bowling in SCG first innings, and he was ready to bat with a broken finger on SCG final day (the injury that made him miss not just Gabba but the entire Eng home series after that) Edited June 22 by Gollum rollingstoned, cricspirit and Bigg Brother 3

Sooda Posted June 23 Posted June 23 (edited) How good will shedge be in ODIs? Good lower order hitter but is his bowling good enough? Part time medium pace really . Can get away with it in two overs in T20i Edited June 23 by Sooda

Sooda Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I think Auqib Nabi could be a good bowling AR at no 8 in ODI but don't know if his bowling will be fodder in unhelpful conditions or if he will have the accuracy even if not the pace to be effective
Need4Speed Posted June 23 Posted June 23 These bowlers will have to bowl learn yorkers and specifically wide yorkers.. day in day out..practice it and make yourself useful for 2 overs min.. Dube + Shedge

In ODIs, who is our most explosive finisher who can bowl 3 to 4 overs if needed ? Can Abhishek be tried at 6 ? Or can Dube be brought in ?

Point is it's important to have a 6th bowling option but not a particularly high quality one. The hitting is far more important. express bowling and Adamant 2
