Messi's physical attributes are ideal for being a god-level dribbler with low centre of gravity where getting ball off him is impossible with his close control, acceleration over short distance, change of pace and lower body strength. Tall oafs can't do this. Rest of the game like passing, vision, footballing intelligence, technique, off the ball movement are all immaterial of physical attributes. Absolute best players to have played the game all tend to be in that height range for a reason.
