coffee_rules Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 What is akki roti? Looks yummy. Hand-pressed rice dough, grilled and roasted on tawa. Usually we make a circle in the middle to see how much is it roasted. Like a paratha, but with rice/raagi. Best eaten with pickle/chutney.

maniac Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 ^Not a random google pic of Falafel....This is Phesal falafel from Benjyahuda :bhangra:
cowboysfan Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 This is gold.. Very tasty ..like home-made rottis! Like MTR, Bangalore's other restaurant chains are making ready-made frozen dishes for NRIs. I don't buy frozen stuff but I will see our local stores have them, akii roti with pork fry is great.
coffee_rules Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Nice. How do you make this circle? Hand-press it on the tawa, until it is somewhat a circle close to the border. It is not pressed outside like a roti/paratha.
vvvslaxman Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 These days i am making baked pakodas in toaster oven. Sometimes results were good. sometimes not. Still to be perfected.

Prakat Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 If you are in Bangalore and love pork you are going to thank me within a few pages. This place is Roshan's, a small coorg joint that's a short drive from Palace Grounds. Find it listed as Coorg Pavilion in Zomato. Just order the roast pork. They serve medallions of meat roasted to perfection and succulent as nothing you've ever tasted. There's other stuff like pork curry and chilli pork that are exquisite in their own way. But the roast, the roast is the reason you will keep going back to the place like a love-struck, horny schoolboy.

Gowdas love pork and Lingayats are pretty strict veggies of what I know. I thought he is originally from B'lore.
