The most disappointing aspect of yesterday was that we lost 9 wickets in just over a session of play... no batsmen apart from sachin to an extent show any application to stay and bide time.

Every Indian batsman was wearing a chest gurad. Have not seen our batsmen with chest guards for a long time. Does that also affect the natural game of these players? I know using all the protective gear available is the prerogative of an individual player, but if someone has not been using them for a long time, surely batting with them will take time to adapt to. On the 2nd day, we need to limit the SA lead to under 100 somehow and then I am prettu sure we are not going to collapse again. Anything around 175-200 in the 4th innings will be tough to chase here.

Unlucky with the toss. But even if Ind. would have won the toss' date=' it is unlikely that SA would have been 140/9 with Zaheer out. Ind. just have to salvage what they can.[/quote'] Without Steyn in SA attack, we too would have been 150 for 3 or 4 even on such a damp wicket :--D

The match like this helps especially with delusional "clowns" like OP who somehow take comfort in statistic of numero uno without actually fighting and winning the the toughest boxers in the toughest conditions. Notwithstanding the lack of practise match or the toss or Zak injury, a "serious" No.1 side in the wold cannot get whacked like this and look like a club side. Ind. has restore what it can from this match but then show what they are made up of in the coming 2 matches. But this won't be pretty, rest assured.

Lol..judging a match by ONE almost washed out day, even before the second team has batted. Look how bad the aussies looked bad on perth first day, and where they are now...

Definitely You always have that thing annoying you. You'll find it comes in the way of natural movements and you have to adjust you're technique to make up for the extra equipment
