Watson87 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 BTW why cant our bowlers learn from Prasanna ? I am sure Prasanna and other great spinners can help the bunch of spinners we have. At the moment Mr Bhajji can use a few tips PS: No bedi Bhajji doesn't need tips, he gives tips. :winky:
EnterTheVoid Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJlK1XSg5N8]YouTube - Nathan Lyon bowling' date=' 2010/11 Twenty20 Big Bash - 720p HD[/url'] Guys this kid is good I went to watch a few Big Bash Games LIVE and I can tell you its a crap tournament. Its not as good as people think it is. His performance in Big Bash shouldn't be used as an indicator of future test bowler.

Agreed that a T20 performance means zilch if you are looking for a potential test player, be it a bowler or batsman, but if he has started promisingly in the shield cricket, as Kim Hughes said, then this fellow is worth keeping an eye on. How I wish we have an A tour to Australia like we had the top end tour 5 years back. It'll give a good opportunity of both the countries to assess their future players which they'll be needing badly very shortly!
hari504504 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Krejza should be their frontline spinner IMO..he certainly bowls much better than everyone else that has shown up in this team recently wearing a spinner's cap..
gaurav92 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Krejza has got a big heart, he does toss it up, and is brave enough to toss it up to someone like Virender Sehwag, well settled. In the warm up game, the slower trajectory deceived Veeu, and he was too early on the stroke.Having said that, he does bowl some "hit me" balls, and is not all that consistent with his line and length.
Gollum Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Massive respect to Lyon. Doesn't have a gazillion variations, not the most talented tweaker but got a great heart and massive trier. Always in the thick of things, bowling or fielding. Has already done more than what Asswin could do in entire series against RSA. Most improved spinner by a mile.:hatsoff:

hhhhdmt Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Very good spinner. Such a hard worker. He doesn't turn the ball massively, nor is he extremely versatile. But boy he can play, hopefully he continues to improve.
Trichromatic Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 403 wickets in 101 tests at avg of 32. He has been reliable performer for long time and might end up with 550 wickets for Aus.

Someone correct me if i am wrong

Nikola Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Looks past prime in last few years. Might retire soon now that he has taken 400 wickets.
Majestic Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 The greatest non Asian spinner in last 25-30 years list :- 1. Shane Warne 2. Graeme Swann 3. Nathan Lyon 4. Daniel Vettori Anyone missed?
