Pagalpanti Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 but to get boundaries' date='u woud hv to go hard n hence risky, whereas otherwise u can dab around n play with soft hands to get singles without any risk[/quote'] Your still making the same point. Yes constantly hitting in the air will create more chance but it will also take the game away quickly. So the in-out field is a much better ploy, it's kind of a middle thing between going all-defensive/aggressive. And it has worked well for Dhoni at home.
Lord Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Bhai' date=' This is exactly why they struggle against spin! They can NOT for life dab around and manouvre singles. The conditions in which they have bought up prevent the same as the ball swings. SC players are wristy because we are forced to use our wrists against the spinners.[/quote'] they were doing well getting singles except Southee:dontknow: anyway there werent enough close in fielders too.in-out fied should ensure that atleast
Crookbond Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 New Zealand First Innings Singles 75, Boundaries 50 Second Innings Singles 72, Boundaries 25 I will be very happy if I were the captain looking at that.

Not just Dhoni, check out what Misbah did in UAE and Jayawardene in SL - it's the same thing!
The Dark Horse Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Is Zaheer running in or bowling like a spinner or is it just me?
ganeshran Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Your still making the same point. Yes constantly hitting in the air will create more chance but it will also take the game away quickly. So the in-out field is a much better ploy, it's kind of a middle thing between going all-defensive/aggressive. And it has worked well for Dhoni at home. Not really, check out the windies series at home or the England - Australia series. We had the initiative at crucial times in those tests but let the initiative slip away. 27/4 in Australia, the second test where they were 6 or 7 down and things just meandered when the opposition counter attacked. In the windies matches, it was good when spinners were on top and and Dhoni had attacking fields. The moment windies started firing, Dhoni had no answers at all (In the Kolkata test second innings or the mumbai first innings). The fields were spread and bowlers just went through the motions waiting for the batsmen to make a mistake. Not only in India, but in the overseas tours there were times when the team just lost it. Clarke marched to a triple century scoring a boundary every other over despite the field being spread out. At some times during innings like these, its the captain's responsibility to try and grab back the initiative , but there was no such attempt. Part timers bowled overs upon overs and leaked 4-5 RPO
Lord Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Is Zaheer running in or bowling like a spinner or is it just me? yeah I felt that too but interestingly he clocked good speeds, sometime even 140+
rkt.india Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Is Zaheer running in or bowling like a spinner or is it just me? Zak is running in like this for last 4-5 years. Even Johnson has also copied his style now.
Deleted_User_1 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The phaacking hijra has to go.....He is a phaacking Endulkar now!
BERGKAMP Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 POLL - Should Tendulkar retire BEFORE or AFTER the England test matches? ?
carnish Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 ? I voted after .. because I want to see hi go for the record of most Bowled dismissals in Tests. Another record for the Master
Sarkar Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 People who want to write Sachin off after three innings test failures need to get their head checked.
Sarkar Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 the stat of Tendulkar getting bowled out 3 times in a row, the last time he followed that up with a 193 at a juicy headingly pitch. Can we expect another huge score next time he comes out to bat ?"

Trichromatic Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 People who want to write Sachin off after three innings test failures need to get their head checked. which 3 innings are you talking about?
diga Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 SRT should retire in the middle of the series, if he is not able to cut it against England.. SRT should play max of 2 tests to see if he can still hold onto his place by sheer weight of his runs and not by his desire as long as he loves the game ;-) Plz add one more option to the poll.
Crookbond Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 which 3 innings are you talking about? :phehehe:
