maniac Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 From Indian Mythology-Raavana and Duryodhan because they were not the out and out villians as a lot of people make them out to be....Infact Raavana was known to be a noble and scholarly king till he brought his own downfall... Duryodhan-Call him mythical, fictional or a real person was one of the most complicated individuals ever. From movies/Comic books has to be Lex Luthor-Who is nalso not an out and out villian in the broadest sense.

The Mahabhrata is a legendary piece of literary work. The more you dig, the more you find.
DomainK Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 From desi movies: AB in Deewar, SRK in Baazigar. From videshi films: Tony Montana is good, but I think "Hannibla Lecter" beats them all.
Clarke Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 From Mahabharata - Karna Duryodhana Both win as anti-heros. Bhishma fits the bill.
Chalks Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 No better example in cricket than Douglas Jardine imo.
vayuu1 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Glad someone understands these characters well. The Mahabhrata is a legendary piece of literary work. The more you dig' date=' the more you find.[/quote'] But do you know that originally Mahabharata was called jaya samhita and it had 6000 verses and other verses were added later and then it was called Mahabharata ,I am downloading raavan samhita know heard a lot about it
vayuu1 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 From Mahabharata - Karna Duryodhana Both win as anti-heros. Well not really karna though had lot of quality like in justice equivalent of yudhisthir, strength bhima, bravery and archery arjuna, smartness nakula and wisdom sahdeva ,but the statement in which he said that it doesn't matter for draupadi if she has a sixth husband or not ,I mean agreed a lot of injustice has been done to him but it cannot be justified ,and duryodhan was outright villain he was responsible for whole situation,u might be shocked to listen this ,but I believe shakuni was the anti hero of Mahabharata ,he was son of king subal there was dosha in gandharis kundali ,that her first husband will die on first night ,so as a precaution she was married to a male goat and later to dhritrashtra, when dhritrashtra came to know about this he was enraged and arrested king subal and his family and ordered to starve them till death ,king subal requested him to show some mercy ,but he said only one member of his family will be given a handful of rice and water ,it is upto u to decide who it would be ,subal choose shakuni and asked for the revenge.it is said from that very day shakuni's aim was to destroy kuru vansha the dice used in dyut against pandavas were made of bones of king subal
Mariyam Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 where is mangalassery neelakantan? I was wondering the same. The last time I visited Udipi bhavan they said they don't serve mangalassery anymore with the malpua. :((
Sachin=GOD Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Velu nayagan Darth Vader Severus Snape Oh yeah, how can one forget Snape while mentioning antiheros!! Well not really karna though had lot of quality like in justice equivalent of yudhisthir' date='strength bhima, bravery and archery arjuna, smartness nakula and wisdom sahdeva ,but the statement in which he said that it doesn't matter for draupadi if she has a sixth husband or not ,I mean agreed a lot of injustice has been done to him but it cannot be justified ,and duryodhan was outright villain he was responsible for whole situation,u might be shocked to listen this ,but I believe shakuni was the anti hero of Mahabharata ,he was son of king subal there was dosha in gandharis kundali ,that her first husband will die on first night ,so as a precaution she was married to a male goat and later to dhritrashtra, when dhritrashtra came to know about this he was enraged and arrested king subal and his family and ordered to starve them till death ,king subal requested him to show some mercy ,but he said only one member of his family will be given a handful of rice and water ,it is upto u to decide who it would be ,subal choose shakuni and asked for the revenge.it is said from that very day shakuni's aim was to destroy kuru vansha the dice used in dyut against pandavas were made of bones of king subal[/quote'] Actually from I know Duryodhana was not that bad but was mislead from the start. Drithrashtra always favored him over the Pandavas and it was no secret that he wanted Duryodhana to be his successor. Then there was Shakuni who, for reasons you mentioned, was always goading him and was usually the brains behind the schemes against Pandavas. Also, Bhishma and Drona both favored the Pandavas so this also fueled the fire in case of Duryodhana.
Yoda-esque Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 SRK in Darr. He was plain Tharki in that:giggle:
