He's obviously *****ing his pants now cause Harbhajan is back in the team. Good on him, I too would be scared if I were him and had to face such lethal off spin. Better to save your stats and legacy. :nice: Overall good career :hatsoff:

He should have quit after the Ashes defeat at home. He continued to be a burden on the team and surprisingly, the usually tough Aussie selectors took a soft stance towards him.

End of an era. The game will miss him. Not sure if anyone can ever come close to the kind of winning records he has..100+ test wins, 3 WCs, Champions Trophy , Ashes wins, ICC Cricketer of the year :hatsoff: to Ponting

Champion cricketer. Selectors were surprisingly soft on him but given his achievements, it was justified. Greatest number 3 batsman in the last 20 years.

:hatsoff: to a champion batsman,a gr8 fielder,an ordinary med pace & off break bowler & a good captain who had a gr8 team that yielded gr8 results.Thnks for all the memories Ricky though all of that were from a rival team except when u played briefly for KKR.

Sad to say this but I didn't truly appreciated him until it was too late, I will regret this forever. I had a massive liking for the Punter but I never had courage to praise him online. I always craved for Ponting like player for India, who wanted to win for his nation at whatever cost, irrespective of hit to his own reputation. I saw shades of Ricky's passion in our Kohli. I am glad though there are many Cricket Pundits who rate him in same Tier as Lara and Tendu. He truly deserves all the praises, I have not seen better batsmen at his PEAK than Ponting, he was Waqar Younis of batting, people will not rate likes of Ponting/Waqar in Akram/Warne/Sachin/Lara category.

In his prime he could do some jaw dropping stuff. Absolute fighter and one of the top 3 batsmen of this generation. Cricket fans all over the world will miss him and he has made this wonderful game even better to watch thanks to his batsmanship. The 100 he scored last year against us in the WC quarter final was something only champions could do, showed what he was made of.

Penultimate of the Legends retire' date=' does pontings retirement motivates the Last Legend Standing?[/quote'] no,Kallis can still play for 2-3 years

Good batsman but crap in Indian conditions. Have to call a spade a spade. If an Indian batsmen didnt succeed in England and Australia, everyone will hold that against him. The reverse doesnt seem to be true which is unfair.

He was a changed man after giving up his captaincy.. Lot more humble and likeable. Legend. Amazing captaincy record!! One prediction got right! My other bet is that both Kallis and SRT will retire by the end of this year.

Best of the best out there. Thanks for your contributions Ponting. I enjoyed watching you for the last 17 years. Outstanding cricketer. You will be missed.
