Lord Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 he did well in ODI series in WI too and those were not flat tracks by any stretch of imagination. yes they werent, but they were more sticky n slow wickets than seaming ones.he failed in Aus,SL too
Number Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 ' date='but still they were pattas where Sammy,Rampaul n Russell scored runs[/quote'] they did slogged a few times but Yadav Vinay and Aaron were getting good movement and WI top and middle order too failed. Rajkot was a patta though where Sehwag scored a double ton.

Rajkot was a patta though where Sehwag scored a double ton. the movement was early on,which is why top order failed.it settled down for the middle order in most games n the double ton was at Indore
The Outsider Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 The side is being led by a captain who selects hacks like Yuvraj, Raina, and Jadeja because they are left handed and can fire some darts. That seems to be the only way forward for Rahane and Rohit.
rkt.india Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 yes they werent' date='but they were more sticky n slow wickets than seaming ones.he failed in Aus,SL too[/quote'] There was help for fast bowlers too. and Roach, Rampaul are as good bowlers as any playing right now. In fact, Roach is one of the top 5 fast bowlers right now.
The Dark Horse Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Like Dhoni' date=' Sachin?[/quote'] Yep.

yoda Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I agree that Rohit need to be playing tests, even ahead of guys like Rahane.
cowboysfan Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 I agree that Rohit need to be playing tests' date=' even ahead of guys like Rahane.[/quote'] We are just wasting him right now in Ranjis instead of finding out whether he can cut it in test cricket,we just dont have the luxury of other talented cricketers knocking on the doors.
vvvslaxman Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Mandeep singh's fan conspicuously absent
SLICKR392 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 My bad! Sry for the post lols Which post?
maniac Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Rohit needs to play in Jaddu's slot and when SRT retires,he moves into Kohli's current spot with Kohli being the new No4. Rohit would be perfect against Australia.Don't play him in meaningless ODI's till then.
MCcricket Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Rohit deserves a go in test's, selectors choose players for wrong formats, he alsong with Pujara, Virat could make for a talented trio.Sehwag Gambhir need to pull up their socks or Murali, Dhawan, Rahane, Saha need to be given a go.

Needs to tighten up the technique!!
Cevno Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Rohit deserves a go, but if Rahane is dropped for no reason i'll rage so hard. Rahane deserves a go first.
its me Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 he did well in ODI series in WI too and those were not flat tracks by any stretch of imagination. He needs to do more in international cricket. He has not done enough to talk.He will going get more chances to prove himself.
Cevno Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 He should be dropped from ODI but picked in tests. So stupid of Indian selectors and some fans as he is better in FC. And also good in T20's.
NareshK Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 This guy doesnt even have the temperament to do well in ODIs. He can forget about test cricket. He just plays way too many loose shots and can do well only in T20s.
bharat297 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 This guy doesnt even have the temperament to do well in ODIs. He can forget about test cricket. He just plays way too many loose shots and can do well only in T20s. This is why Rohit Sharma isnt going anywhere at the moment. Back in 2007-09 almost every cricketing expert in the world rated this guy as the future of Indian cricket. The argument against him was that he didnt have a great FC record. In 3 years he's brought his FC record up to 60, and now people are saying he doesn't have a good LOI record. It's like what Ian Chappell said, "When you have a class player and you make him play a low standard of cricket for too long, he develops sloppy habits." This is just terrible selection. Suresh Raina has played 17 tests and Yuvraj Singh has played 40 tests. Neither one of them has shown they have the technique or temperament for the longer form of the game and both have inferior first class records to Rohit Sharma but the selectors keep giving them extended runs. Yet Rohit Sharma, despite people calling him 'Nohit' and saying he's been given chances, has yet to play a single Test match. Its quite sad ... He probably won't do well in the T20 tonight and ignorant fans will use this to validate not selecting him in Tests, calling him 'Nohit'. The fact that Ravindra Jadeja got a run before Rohit Sharma is absolute lunacy but thats what you expect from the BCCI now.
The Dark Horse Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I agree that Rohit, Rahane etc. should be tried. But for that the dons Sachin, Gambhir need to be sacked.
