Debutant
I did not even knew about ICF when Vijay made his debut but I am pretty sure half of the posters here would have whined how he is a quota pic by Srikanth at that time. Link to comment

I did. Not all that quota shyte, but I thought he would fail like a miserable douche. :om: Link to comment
vvvslaxman
He displayed great technique except when the ball was pitched around the off stump. He has completely turned it around ,turned that weakness into a strength by showing impeccable judgement. Link to comment

Gollum
1st time failure in test cricket because of T20. People always made fun of him and doubted his selection crying favoritism, corruption etc. What a turnaround this has been !!!! Hard work, discipline and sheer bloody guts is what has made him this vital cog of our team. What he once again demonstrated in this innings was the grit he has become so well known for. Looked like getting out any time yesterday, but hung in there and fought it out unlike some others in our line up. Was struggling with his hamstring throughout the match but didn't use that as an excuse a la Gautam Gambhir. Again just like Sydney unselfishly sacrificed his wicket for the greater cause, take a bow Vijay. He may not be as talented as Kohli or Rahane or Nohit but dedication, temperament and patience more than make up for it. All aspiring batsmen in India should look up to him in stead of IPL hacks. Oh how we missed him in the 1st test :(( Link to comment
G_B_
Solid innings in the second... was already expected. Link to comment

Gollum
Top knock ' date='only if he could convert those 90s into 100s [/quote'] Doubt he cares about milestones, he ain't a Tendulkar mate. Winning is more important for some people than useless stats piling, we saw that in Sydney too. Link to comment

Gollum
But if he were fit both him and Dhawan would have walked out for us in Galle. Link to comment
Vijy
But if he were fit both him and Dhawan would have walked out for us in Galle. That combo, if I remember correctly, seems to have done reasonably well thus far. Link to comment
