Detonator Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 :cantstop: The Tibetian Mastiff looks pretty dangerous as well. take a look at this Size and scary looking != Dangerous. This one, a dhole, could kill a fully grown guy in no time.
Swing_n_Speed Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Whoaaaa i absolutely wanna learn more about the Tibetan Mastiff now. So freakin cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Swing_n_Speed Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/08/130816-china-zoo-tibetan-mastiff-dog-lion-fraud-animals/ Even the dog in the zoo could be a Chinese creation, as they have been mix breeding the Mastiff for a while now, in order to create that super large mane and what not. This dog is apparently a huge status symbol there.

Mastiff can give wolf and leopard run for their money. As a flock guardian dog in Tibet and in the West, it is tenacious in its ability to confront predators the size of wolves and leopards. This is an ancient breed. It has been theorized that an early Tibetan dog is the ancestor to all Molossus breeds, although this is disputed by most experts. A highly questionable study at Nanjing Agricultural University's Laboratory of Animal Reproductive Genetics and Molecular Evolution in Nanjing, China, found that while most common dog breeds genetically diverged from the wolf approximately 42,000 years ago, the Tibetan Mastiff genetically diverged from the wolf approximately 58,000 years ago. From Wiki.
Detonator Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 cmon' date='Dhole's are scared of humans.I have seen them in Bandipur and they run away the moment they hear the jeep.[/quote'] Almost every animal is scared of humans, due to over-hunting. Even Indian lions are a bit scared of humans :(( Only exception is the crocodiles. We look like tender meat for them Not trying to make a Mastiff vs Dhole, (Mastiff could easily overpower a single dhole, and it ll be dead if encountered by a pack). When in attack mode, dholes are more dangerous (atleast according to forest rangers) We got to be careful during trekking.
The Outsider Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 cmon' date='Dhole's are scared of humans.I have seen them in Bandipur and they run away the moment they hear the jeep.[/quote'] Maybe, it was scared of the jeep? :hmmm:
CSK Fan Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 But if you attacked by multiple ones then I don't think one can survive. They never ever attack human beings. There might have been one or two exceptions but this is one animal which can take down lions and tigers but never attacks human beings

beetle Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 But if you attacked by multiple ones then I don't think one can survive. Multiple ants and bees can also kill....
