Kind of going over the top isn't everyone? I mean surely this a moment to celebrate? India can finally play a batsman who'll score runs and not have the awkward situation of having to play Tendulkar cause no one has the balls to drop him.

His legacy is only tarnished if your admiration for him was built on how others view him.
Why would I care about other ? In my eyes, it has been tarnished. I was in tears when they picked him and carried him around wankhede. What followed did effect my perception of him ? Anyhow it is not time to nitpick. Great man has left the field. Now we can celebrate and cherish the man and the joy he has given all of us.

shameful!! support the individual over the side!! feckin great..
It's not like that. A lot of people like me have lost interest in the game in general. It's not about blind patriotism or anything; it's about what you wish to do with your time.

to each his own' date='i still stand by my post.[/quote'] That is the key point. To each his own - and therefore people have a right to react to the situation the way they'd want to. It really has nothing to do with choosing 'individual over nation' or anything of that sort.

Four little Indians making merry One danced down the crease and then there were three Three little Indians, down under they flew One flicked too hard and then there were two... Two little Indians, playing against each other for fun A hole in the wall got one, and then there was one One little Indian, left all alone He went out and hanged his boots, and then there were none

firmly indias all time best behind Dravid.
I don't think its the time to compare the two legends. But if you really want a comparison, Sachin is way ahead of Dravid in all matters. Dravid might marginally overtake Sachin in Gentlemanship. But that's all it is.

What an incredible career and presence Tendulkar had over the years! As much as the runs and technique, it was his enthusiasm for the sport which was unmatched and infectious. I hope he gets to enjoy a bit of his private life in the coming years after being under media scrutiny since the age of 15.
